Im thinking that the Slim will be the only SKU left.

No more arcade, just a slim, internal HDDand probably will be priced at 199. If this happens could the 360 challenge Nintendo ? Thanks and please be respectful, as you might know, I love the idea of a MS slim, hence, the name. Thanks so much and be respectful in the thread.

Knowing Microsoft, it's not very likely. They will do the slim model alongside the regular models and then devote a low end slim model and a high end slim model. Similar to what Sony is doing with the PS3.

They'll do a SLIM for $199 and a SLIM with Natal + Party game for $299.00

I don't think they'll have an internal HDD because they can still sell external ones and make money on them. I think they'll always have at least two models. The basic one and the one that's $100 more and bundled with games and a HDD. I don't think it will challenge Nintendo that much. Software is a major reason why people like the Wii. MS could have launched with Natal but if their line-up was the same, I think Nintendo would still be in a leadership position. A lot of Wii gamers have been alive since video games were first invented but nothing got them to jump in until the Wii. I don't think adding motion controls is going to turn a soccer mom into a huge Halo and God of War fangirl.

There are two SATA cables on the leaked Slim motherboard. One cable is for the disc drive. the other will be for......? Only the HDD :)

Aren't there two SATA cables on current 360 motherboards? One for the disc drive and the other as a connector to the plug for the external HDD?

i don't think they'll be a slim, they'll have to make a new hdd for it, and i don't think M$ will open up to put a 2.5" drive in it.

The slim model will likely have an internal HDD. The SATA cables looked shorter, so I doubt it would be long enough to connect to something external.

its not like m$ to add complications with different sku's, they might be making a new board, but this alleged board with the gpu built in with the cpu... well with the ports encased like they are, and the size of the board, it looks like its just a itx board

the SLim makes complete sense, they might make the slim and charge 299 with a 250hdd, thats more likely what they will do, but nonetheless it is coming. MS always leaks out stuff before it actually is announced like zephyr that everyone said would never happen and then it did.

if you look at the ports and all the stuff for the buttons, the itx board has a bunch of extra stuff, and not all the same stuff, i'm not saying they are remodling the board, but is there a picture with the ports of the new board? i can't find it, i don't think M$ will make a slim, not when they have a particular format for the HDD, memory cards, i don't think they'll change that up and split the typs of peripherals they have up, there was speculation for a slim for the original xbox too, M$ jsut doesn't have a habit of remodeling there stuff, it just makes complications, splits their consumer base so they have to make 2 standards for all their stuff. If they had an open system like SONY a redesign makes sense since they aren't making the peripherals

i hear you, but making it slim will make it sell even more. They are gonna have to do something, PS3 offers more for the price and MS knows it. You make it a slim, offer a 250 hdd, and you might not even have to drop the price because right now the 360 is still selling with the PS3 and beating it. MS is going to do something.

they could make a new board and drop the price, the only remodeling i could think of is a 360 with a natal built in, cut the original in half so they can put natal beside it. but truthfully i don't think bundling it in the same case would be a good idea, 360 is to big to find a particular spot to make natal work nicely, which would make sense for slimming it down in that case,

very good point, im very excited to see what is actually being planned. Natal seems to be a major focus for MS, maybe its really that good? I hope so, but E3 2010 looks to have MS is very good position to make a splash.

i like natal the most out of everything, its doing the same thing but without changing the controller, giving you an interface that you don't need to buy peripherals for, people can litereally just jump in and start playing.
