Yeah true I don't know why they showed a CG trailer which like I mentioned before how the game should actually look like.

Given its twisted development history, I am skeptical as hell. I hope it's great. But definitely not getting it day one. As far as PS5 goes, I don't see that happening at all.

It could have looked about like that on PS4 if it wasn't basically a PS3 game.

That reminds me.... I should probably play through the ICO & SOTC collection on PS3 soon. I bought it years ago and hardly played it. I did finish both games on PS2 when they came out though.

How come it's gonna a PS5 remasturd ? With so many delays it's going to be a PS5 exclusive.

With how long it's taken to come out, it would be more like "remasteed for PS7".

It wouldn't look like that because Sony HD Milk ports are as lazy as it gets and the only thing that will improve and allow them to put the "remastered" or "definitive" on the box is higher resolution. Everything but the resolution will be the same and they'll sell it for $50-60...

Maybe that was what they were hoping for. The fans wouldn't let it go though and they may have just slapped everything together and are finally releasing it. I want it to be good, but Iet's be honest... if it was in heavy development this whole time, it would look a lot better than what they have showed us. It just looks like a project that was revived from the last gen and is now being finished because it is easier with the current tech.

Not really sure what's being misrepresented here, to be honest. Looks like the type of cinematic you'd see in any game, doesn't particularly oversell the graphics or art style, and the actions taken in the trailer (e.g., jump and grab the tail) are exactly the type of the thing you'd do in the game. @dynamitecop: Cool? What does that have to do with what I said? We have seen extended gameplay of this - we know what it looks like and how it plays.

So why not show the actual game on the eve of its release? Why drum up a CGI video that makes it look more intricate and far more visually impressive than it actually is? Clearly The Last Guardian was birthed at the end of the PlayStation 2's life, do they not want to own that and just present it as it is?

@dynamitecop: 1) has there been a AAA game released in eons without a cinematic trailer? 2) as noted above, this is hardly misrepresenting the game - the game looks almost exactly like that and it doesn't depict gameplay elements not present in the game. That's basically exactly what a cinematic in the game might look like with its engine.

Go to minute 12:35 and onward and you basically see that "dirty dirty CGI trailer" in actual gameplay

But whatever, people get stoked when they see shit like this on their platform and pile on when it's on a different one. Just another day on SW

Remaster is just bump up the resolution right? it would still look like the same cartoony style we getting now.
