[QUOTE="II-FBIsniper-II"][QUOTE="ChrisSpartan117"]I found Half-Life 2 and Bioshock to be great games.

swazidoughman

Neither have multiplayer.

Then what the hell is this "Half-Life 2: Deathmatch" thingy I see on my Steam games list?

It didn't come with the game.

I really hate to say I can't comment on Halo 3, even though I want to "finish the fight" for the sake of "finishing the fight", my fiancial situations kept me from playing the game.

dont even bother, save your money and buy yourself some spare condoms.

Then he could "finish the fight" without worrying about a "Sequel" coming out later. lol

I didn't pay a single dime and played the game all the way to the end, still wish I could erase every minute of it from my memory and get the time I spent back. It's like 13 bucks used at Gamestop. It's not worth it. Seriously.

Wow, that sounds terrible, maybe it was a good idea for me not to play it.

dont take ANYBODYS word for ANY game. you go out and try it for yourself becuase you never know what experience or likes and dislikes youll have about this game. you never know what personal gem your missing out on.

I do that a lot, half the time I get surprised, and the other half I get disappointed, trust me, I can get disappointed very easily, oh well.

Halo 2's campaign wasn't the greatest, but it was pretty good. And the multiplayer was miles ahead ofanything else at the time. Halo 2 is probably the worst Halo game, but that doesn't make it bad by any means.

And seriously, play Perfect Dark Zero.

TC and most people underestimate the gravity of Halo's Multiplayer. Say what you want about the campaign mode, but its the MP that gives it high scores, its the MP that brought it to fame, and its the MP that everyone was looking forward to when they waited at midnight on launch day for Halo 2.

I enjoyed the Arbiter levels. Just the idea behind him going on those suicide missions and surviving was bad*ss IMO. He played the same to me...didn't feel any different than Master Chief really.

Worst AAA game ever? I wouldn't say that. It offered hours upon hours of online fun and the story wasn't half bad. If anything, Assassin's Creed is the worst AAA game ever. It had boring and repetitive missions with little to no replay value.

I was really, REALLY disappointed with Halo 2's single player after loving Halo: CE. The multiplayer was amazing, though. As for being the worst game ever to get AAA, I disagree completely.

The ENTIRE Halo series is overrated IMO. They're average shooters that don't hold a cake to their PC counterparts.

Halo2's SP wasn't bad. But it wasn't great either. The MP was very addicting and made up for the SP.

I feel as though I am in the minority when I say Halo 2 offered the best campaign -- I had an absolutely blast playing through the campaign, and the multiplayer? Phenomenal. I've put over a thousand plus hours into Halo 2's online.Stevo_the_gamer

It had a good campaign. Prefered coop more than anything. yes love the splitscreen multiplayer that i used to play with friends.(Lockout, Midship, awesome maps.:) brings me back to the goldenye days lol

Really, how the hell did this get scores near Half-Life 2? Really? I am one of the biggest console fanboys ever, and Half-Life 2 is head and shoulders better than Halo 2 in every single way, excluding the soundtrack. I'm dead serious when I think this may deserve high A or low AA, it's really obvious MicroSoft forced Bungie to rush the game, because, for example, the game was supposed to have three more levels after the "final" level.

Fun fact: Halo 2 got 7.0 on PC, and PC has higher standards

Can you freaking read? Look: "Halo 2 for Vista is a solid game that probably won't appeal to anyone who's played any recent high-profile PC shooters." Look, the reviewer says RECENT high-profile PC shooters. Halo 2 came out three years later. I guess you can completely ignore that part, though, as long as it benefits your argument, right? Fun fact that Hermits never mention: Halo 1 got a 9.0 on PC after two years of its initial release. Ya know what? I should be ignorant and say that Half-Life 2 on XBox only got AA, while completely ignoring WHY it got that score. It had technical issues. But I'll ignore that for the sake of my argument, just like you.

At the time, Halo 2 deserved AAA status. I think I'm one of those people who enjoyed the Arbiter levels (for the most part). The ending was weak, but MS pushed Bungie to release the game, when they could've gave them more time to polish the "boring" levels and release it on the Xbox 360 launch day. Wow, MS missed out big time...

I thoguth halo 2 was an awesome awesome game much better than halo 3 in terms of multiplayer. The worst AAA game is perfect dark zero by a significant margin.

spinecaton

You never played WarioWares Smooth Move, a game with about 2-3 hours worth of campaign that you do not want to go back through again once you finish. Just glad I didn't pay anything to even play it because I was done with it in an afternoon.

I LOVE Wario Ware Smooth Moves! Some of my favorite 2-3 hours this generation! I still go back every now and then. PD0 is more undeserving in my book.

I enjoyed them though not as much as the chief's of course. I still felt that the campaign was far superior to Halo 1. Granted I also played the campaign for Halo only a couple of months ago after already playing 2 and 3 multiplayer. It was strange only having 1 weapon at a time instead of duel wielding. And the level design was atrocious.

Well, the campaign wasn't too good, but the multiplayer was pretty revolutionary for console gaming (though the online XBL game I played before that was Crimson Skies), it still has a better online system than most current console games. (Don't get me started on Gears.)

I did not read because I dont think I need too. Halo is a proven franchise and we all know 2's single player was lacking but evolved online gameplay. There are worst games to get AAA like Assassins Creed and No More Heroes come to mind for recent titles. I am far from a Halo fan but know what they have done for gaming and what they do well.

As a gamer that player with Halo 2 every step of the way. From the beginning of its online, when matchmaking was just as slow as Gears 2 (lol), to the days of standbying and dummy glitching, to the days of modding that almost completely killed the game, to bxr, superjumping, and other small errors, I've played it all. And even after all the problems, I spent so much time through Halo 2's lifespan that I still look at the game as one of the best of its generation, and a innovator of how console online systems can work.

I spent more time in Halo 2 than I probably ever will with Halo 3. Don't get me wrong, Halo 3 is an amazing package that outdoes Halo 2 in almost every way, but it's hard to try to match the amount of hours with the other. The same happened with Brawl as well, as I went back to Melee. And I'm sure not even SC2, with how promising it will be, will match the amount of time I put into Starcraft.

I respectfully disagree. First off, I enjoyed the Library and never really noticed the level desgined until everybody started whining about it. Onto Halo 2... The single player wasn't as good as Halo: CE, but for all its worth it was great. It had story, some great gameplay, and variety. The Arbiter storyline itself was better than the Chief's, but the same cannot be said about the gameplay. One of levels kinda dabbed at stealth which would have been nice, but nope, extremely undercooked. The multiplayer was amazing though, much better than CE, though CEs was still great in the time of no Xbox Live.

Edit: For more details on the Halo trilogy, read my non-bias (no, seriously, no bias here) in my reviews of each game! I thought they were pretty good anyway...

mitu123

It was actually alot of fun though. It was a 2 hour game though. Perfect dark zero has no redeeming qualities. It is like the real deal in terrible AAA game that has no right being AAA.

Some of the minigames weren't that great in WarioWare, and multiplayer was decent in Perfect Dark Zero, though both games shouldn't got AAAEs, what's funny is that those are both the 1st games I got for 360 and Wii, LOL.

Though it only takes 2 hours to beat WarioWare's campaign, the campaign isn't what that game's about. It's a party game, simple as that. Being able to unlock all the microgames relatively quickly is convenient for a game of that style so that it can be played with other people instantly. Almost all the microgames are fun too. There are a couple of duds, but nothing so terrible that it worsens the overall experience. I honestly believe that Smooth Moves is the best party game to ever be released on consoles. The two hour campaign has lasted me atleast 20 hours with replayability, which is impressive considering the each microgame rarely last more than 10 seconds.

Anyway, back on topic: I think the worst AAA game ever is the Wii port of Okami. I thought the controls were among the worst on the Wii.

I loved halo 2.The single player was short but the online multiplayer more than made up for it.Really when u look at the length of halo 2 there really doesnt seem to be much difference with the length of current games. The single player portion of all games seem like theyve been shortend since the current gen systems came on the scene.

Halo 2's singleplayer campaign is certainly well under the standard it should have been, the level design leaves much to be desired. How did it get such critical acclaim at the time, despite these flaws? Hype, marketing saturation are a heavy contributing factor. Critics are gamers too, chances are those people being the first to review it are fans of the last title.

Okay, yes Halo 2 had a meh campaign. But it definitely deserved that AAA score due to the online multiplayer component alone. The multiplayer was fantastic, and set so many benchmarks in terms of console online gaming that even today, most console games are failing to include some important online features that were present back in Halo 2.

So?...

:|

What angle are you coming at from here?

I am just saying these titles are 'awesome' and counter strike was the definitive online multiplayer game of last generation....

Where did I begin to debate about scores?... by all accounts Halo 2 was the best online console game of last generation, damn good in its own right, and a breakthrough for console owners, its no surprise.

So....?

Explanation?

:?

Please offer some more thoughtful insight.
