As a gamer that player with Halo 2 every step of the way. From the beginning of its online, when matchmaking was just as slow as Gears 2 (lol), to the days of standbying and dummy glitching, to the days of modding that almost completely killed the game, to bxr, superjumping, and other small errors, I've played it all. And even after all the problems, I spent so much time through Halo 2's lifespan that I still look at the game as one of the best of its generation, and a innovator of how console online systems can work.
I spent more time in Halo 2 than I probably ever will with Halo 3. Don't get me wrong, Halo 3 is an amazing package that outdoes Halo 2 in almost every way, but it's hard to try to match the amount of hours with the other. The same happened with Brawl as well, as I went back to Melee. And I'm sure not even SC2, with how promising it will be, will match the amount of time I put into Starcraft.
