I actually think PS3 will be behind the other two in two years time.

But the other 7 years will be alot different for PS3.

As I see it, if this scenario occurs, Sony fans would stick behind their brand like Nintendo fans did with the GameCube. Sony would undeniable lose the casual fanbase (which the Wii is already seeming to take) and build from the start up. Sony wouldn't die because I find it hard to believe that a company that has sold well over 200 million machines will all of a sudden leave the business. Expect the PS4 to be more economically friendly in any case.kayn83

 Sony fans would not have the same incentives to not jump ship that Nintendo fans have as Sony's big games include a number of 3rd Party titles

Well see the COWS are all about the wait, they are the type B personalities in this world. So they are content to just wait for good things. Where the lemmings are type A personalities, they don't wait for things to happen they make things happen. Yeah see anyone selling you a wait is selling you a bill of goods, that sux. Why wait for good games when you can play good games now. If the PS3 does take off then I will buy one, but I aint gonna hold my breath waiting for the PS3 to become 1st place console becuse it aint gonna happen.

Yeah I have to aggree the PS3 = PSP, and DS = WII is very good example. Here are the parallels PS I own the PSP, and not a DS, but almost bought one yesterday.

1) PSP tries to be a media hub for your pocket, doesn't do bad but I have a PC in tow which always trumps the PSP for media experiences. PS3 also tries to do the same.

2) PSP & PS3 tries new types of propritary media that isn't very portable, or serves the consumer much value. But tries to get you to buy your media you (might have on DVD) own.  The PSP movies case in point, why pay full price for a movie you can only play on your PSP (that is why the UMD movies failed misserably). I know they make other blue ray devices, but they are all more expensive than the PS3, which ulimatly limits thier viability, as a alternative player to the PS3. Ultimatly the media functions take the focus away from being what I bought the device for and that is playing games, not movies, I will buy a DVD player if I want to watch movies. I think that the PSP and PS3 are just vehicles for sony to try to sell me movies I already own.

2) DS focuses on unique game controls and experiences to draw players in just like the WII.

3) The Nintendo brand tries to offer games that appeal to the masses.
