I'm no cow, I don't even own a PS3 (I'm mainly a PC gamer), but even MGS4 upscaled to 1080p resolution looks beautiful, and though the framerate does dip below 30 fps at times, it's never low enough to be unplayable or unenjoyable, I'm guessing low 20's at worst. I think the TC might have a point or two in his flamebait of a thread.

First party PS3 titles are looking better then anything the 360 can dishout and games like Uncharted and MGS4 are really showing that. I think it's a safe bet to think that the best looking console games will be on the PS3.

PS3 is good at best. Mainly because this gen Microsoft has been far more determined to get the core gamers than the PS3 was. PS3 has all the tech to back it up.

But Microsoft has put huge funding on games.

MS published games versus Sony published games. MS has trumped Sony.

Heck MS has published Gears of War, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Forza Motorsport 2 4 AAA games versus Sony which has published zero.

Like I said earlier, Xbox fanboys can only talk about past games, ones that aren't very technologically advaced by 2008 standards. I can say the PS2 more AAAA, AAA, AA games than the 360 but the PS2 games aren't as advanced as the 360 games. The 360 has more games because it came out a year earlier. I repeat: the most advanced games are found on the PS3. For HD supporters, the Playstation 3 is by far the way to go.

Maybe you are the blind one? I will admit the 360 is a better gaming console atm, but to say bluray is, not needed is a joke, you dont think as standards rise games will need more and more space? The uncompressed audio is also a plus, mgs4 has some damn good sound effects. Mass effect does not look better than mgs4, that is a fact. You are just agreeing because it suites your stand point.

Resident Evil 5 looks to be the best visually in terms of consoles. and so far that has all been 360 footage.

For me an HDTV owner, the PS3 got me a bluray player to watch Bluray movies. Which im still looking for a Godfather Blu Ray(I want justice).

Other than that the games department yes it got me the best game this gen(MGS 4), and a few other good games.

Ratchet, and I'll be buying Uncharted later this week or next week.

Where as the 360 has gotten me far more games, a superior online, and has just as good a future as the PS3. jg4xchamp

I am not saying 360 games LOOK dated. I am saying all of those games are more and more dated in a technological sense...none of them has any technology that can't be seen on a PS3 that I know of. On the other hand, on the 360, you won't find the advanced animation in Uncharted, the photorealism in Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue, the awesome audio in Metal Gear Solid 4, the most muliltplayer in Resistance, etc.

The PS2 also has an MMO, so it can also have a very large number of players. The MMOs on the 360 or the PS2 don't have the graphics of Resistance. Only on the PS3 can you have very good graphics and a large number of players...Resistance 2 has already been played on the PS3 by Gamepro.

Sure, quantity, size, technology, etc. don't nessarily make good games. They can make good games better. The PS3 has a big advantage in technology: cell processor, blu-ray disks, and standard disk drives. Games like Metal Gear Solid 4 can never be done on the 360--how can you say the 360 has as good a future as the PS3, when you yourself said MGS 4 is the best so far this gen?

The reason why the 360 doesn't have as good a future as the PS3 is because games are getting bigger and more advanced, factors that heavily favor the PS3. Factor in built-in Blu-ray movie player, and you have an overwhelming advantage to the PS3. That's why most analysts say the PS3 will fare better this generation than the 360, which is fated to be last.--not a as good a future as the PS3, if you ask me.

Don't HD games require HDTVs? I remember when I first got my 360 on launch, the first game I rented was NBA 2k6 and boy, the fact that I needed an HDTV was relevant because the sides were cut out. Same goes for other games. I'm just gonna go grab a chair, sit down and watch this whole thing go down.

Because that's your opinion. Just like it would be someone else's opinion if they had a beast gaming rig and said that MGS4 doesn't look fantastic due to their Crysis or Stalker at HIGH settings.

MGS 4 looks great yah, but let's just say it's still an opinion. The environments I think (keyword... think) look just boring. The textures are bad up close (fact!) and the character models are outstanding though... (another fact!)

That was never the argument. Pc's were not a factor. This all started after I quoated him on his hd comment. This is the worst argument I have ever had in SW, it is all because I said games look fantastic even if they are not tru hd. Here's what makes the PS3 first class for HD gamers:

1. The best features out of the box: Reliability, Blu-ray player, Quiteness, Wi-Fi, Hard-dsik drive, free on-line, web browser, etc.

2. The most technoglically advanced game ever created--Metal Gear Solid 4.

3. The most advanced audio. Period. Blu-ray disk has enough space for devlopers to use the best sounds in their games.

5. The biggest game of 2008, Resistance 2, according to Gamepro which claims Resistance 2 to be better than Halo 3 and bigger than Call of Duty 4.

8. The most future-proof. This means the PS3 has the processors and disk space for games to get much bigger and better. It's rather obvious that the 360 is nearing its limits while the PS3, which has already produced the most advanced games on the market to date, still has more room to improve.

I hate to say it, but the war between PS3 and 360 is becoming more and more lop-sided in favor of the PS3. No wonder why most analysts say the 360 will become dead last this generation behind the PS3 and the Wii. It's become less and less fun attacking the 360 because I am starting to feel sorry for it.

Ok, dude be real for a second. My argument with BB was he said console games are not true hd, I said ok who cares for a non hd game mgs4 looks fantastic. It went down hill from there, and the argument was I couldnt prove mgs4 looked fantastic. Reread what I just wrote, is that not the gayest argument you have ever heard? You came in late to the argument and by that time I had, had enough of BB nitpicking. Who has a different opinion that Mgs4 is one of the best console looking games? Yes I know its not worth arguing over, but BB would not let go and Im not going to back down fro some one who has nothing to stand on. Give me a break I need a link stating mgs4 is a fantastic looking even if its not hd? Im sure there is one but I dont know how to work the system very well. Did that sum it up for you? Sorry to sound rude but this whole thing got blown way out of proportion.

I was quite disappointed with ninja gaiden II's graphics. It looked like DOA 4. But the gameplay is kick ass........as well as the difficulty

PS3 is good at best. Mainly because this gen Microsoft has been far more determined to get the core gamers than the PS3 was. PS3 has all the tech to back it up.

But Microsoft has put huge funding on games.

MS published games versus Sony published games. MS has trumped Sony.

Heck MS has published Gears of War, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Forza Motorsport 2 4 AAA games versus Sony which has published zero.

Like I said earlier, Xbox fanboys can only talk about past games, ones that aren't very technologically advaced by 2008 standards. I can say the PS2 more AAAA, AAA, AA games than the 360 but the PS2 games aren't as advanced as the 360 games. The 360 has more games because it came out a year earlier. I repeat: the most advanced games are found on the PS3. For HD supporters, the Playstation 3 is by far the way to go.

Those games are 720p native. Gears of War 2, Tales of Vesperia, Fable 2, Banjo Nuts and Bolts, etc all look great.

For me an HDTV owner, the PS3 got me a bluray player to watch Bluray movies. Which im still looking for a Godfather Blu Ray(I want justice).

Other than that the games department yes it got me the best game this gen(MGS 4), and a few other good games.

I am not saying 360 games LOOK dated. I am saying all of those games are more and more dated in a technological sense...none of them has any technology that can't be seen on a PS3 that I know of. On the other hand, on the 360, you won't find the advanced animation in Uncharted, the photorealism in Gran Tourismo 5 Prologue, the awesome audio in Metal Gear Solid 4, the most muliltplayer in Resistance, etc.

Resident Evil 5 or not, I say it now: if a game can be done on the 360 it will not be described as "the most technologically advanced game"...ever. This is simply due to the inferior power, less disk-space, lack-of-stardard hard disk drive, etc.

I give you props for saying that MGS 4 is the best game this gen, but I can't be as nice towards the 360. I wouldn't be honest if I tell you I think the 360 has as good a future as the PS3. No freaking way....unless Microsoft no longer cares about profits....no freaking way.

uncharted best animation? odd gears of war scored higher then it, and every site agrees graphical gears of war got a better score, lol photorealism of GT5 demo? sry but any one that cannot tell those cares are in a game is blind, audio of incomprehesible story 4? sorry thats all uncompressed audio it has nothing to do with tech, less then 1% of the people that purchased the game can take advantage of that, and all it did is take up space that could have been used to make the game better, and it does need it its an 8.5 game at best.

nope it was something like 586p and can't even substain a 30fps average, 1080p keep dreaming cows, there have been basicly no 1080p consoles games with graphics on the same level as mgs4, gears, bioshock etc, console just lack the ram and gpu power to run even 720p a lot of the time
