No doubt there are some out there bashing, but generalizing them all as sheep is inaccurate. :P One just has to be careful not to label someone a sheep because they point something flawed out on the device.

I'm pretty sure the bashers are mainly sheep. Those with honest criticisms though are fine.

that's how it goes for new hardware, but the criticism I see for the VITA are mostly funny and far from the truth. (3DS too)

Are you kidding me? Last year's E3 people were already claiming the PSP2 was DoA. When the NGP was announced, TONS of people were claiming, "Oh, $599, stoopid Sony! They don't understand the handheld market."

-Army Corps of Hell
-Disgaea 3
-Dark Quest
-UMvC3

The Vita is in better shape than the 3DS. As much as people don't want to admit, Android/iOS games are enough for the casual consumer. Vita is aiming for the hardcore, and it will succeed because it is a hardcore focused handheld. The 3DS isn't doomed but it won't be anywhere near as successful as the DS. The Vita will do just as well as the PSP, if not better. Nonstop-Madness

The market in handheld gaming is 3-way segmented, there's the:
a.)super casual - Angry Birds/Nintendo dogs/Brain Age - the cellphone iOS market
b.) casual - gamers, but they thrive on the popular and cool(CoD or WoW are the best examples)
c.)core gamers - gamers who visit forums :P

the PSV/3DS would compete heavilyin the supercasual market against the phones/Ipad industry.

the casual/core gamers are still up for grabs basically.

Don't expect sales sucess similar to the original DS though ($140 million) because of the heavy competition in the super casual market.
