In terms of character models MGS4 is about as good as Crysis!

Maybe not in everything else..but character models look as sharp and detailed, IMO. BTW MGS4 has a long way to go b4 its done...the final product graphically should be outstanding.

Keep in mind these are Early shots.

I'm not gonna say it's better than Crysis but gotta admit they are very good.

Exactly think of it as a bonus, along side its always perfects story and interesting characters. Hideo can always do graphical wonders on even the least powerfull consoles. ;) 

Depends. MGS4 main models(ie..Snake and all the other "important people) looks up to par with crysis, but the cannonfodder/enemies in MGS4 looks far less detailed than Crysis ones.AdrianWerner

Yea, I could agree with that and it's kinda like that on past MGS, but in some parts the guards look very good on MGS4 like these for instance:

In others not so much....specially when the guards are showing their face.

 Nice, but thats like Comparing Gears of War to Unreal Tournement, GeoW and MGS (Assuming for MGS) is all good graphics in a small area while UT3/Crysis are very largescale, achieving more with better graphics enabled.

 Looks great though, shame I'm going 100% hermit now :|

If I payed as much as the average hermit for a highend pc to play only one great looking game I would be a little bitter too.  Fact is MGS4 doesnt look to far off from crysis and in Char models it has the advantage.

yes i think it does but Crysis like most PC games have little or no artistic style, so IMO MGS4 will look better

Hey, don't get me wrong, I think graphically the game is looking great.  But the first shot is definately CGI, we have all seen this before from all consoles.  When I actually see some gameplay, it will look nothing close to that first shot. 

And the game will definately look worse than that first shot, that I can assure you.

MGS has always used the in-game graphics for cut-scenes. MGS4 won't be any different

I wont argue with u from a graphical point but I can guarantee one thing for sure that MGS will have over crysis and that is a better storyline, and that is a big part of games that people dont understand what makes a great game. Even with all that gorgeous graphical power behind crysis, I can promise u, that the devs making that game are not as good as Kojima, and kojima will finish this series off with a bang. I also think MGS4 is still the most anticipated game out there and will see alot of ps3's fly off shelves because of this one game. I do give crysis though the graphical props that it is the best looking game to date but MGS4 will not be far behind in graphics, and will be the first to showcase what the ps3 is capable of.
