In what order, would you like to see this gen console race end?

i would like to see the sony lead close, but i don't care who wins or who loses. imo sony and ms have both made plenty of mistakes in the last year that could end up biting them in the ass later on (hardware, price, addons, bad press, odd pr, loss of exclusives). i'm guessing most of the sony fans will come around when theres a price drop and pick up a ps3 which will in turn push the ps3 sales to 1st again this gen, but not by as much as last gen.

what i believe will happen ps3>wii/360 (wii is going strong, but i don't know how long that will last. but then again the ds sales have been steadyly high so who knows)

Why? So that motion sensing can become a standard. I know alot of purists here that are afraid of motion sensing and are too ignorant to realize its not all about flailing their arms around like a maniac, but I ignore them. Motion sensing provides considerable increases in all genres. Not all motion sensitive controllers have to be "Wii-styled".  I'm sure Sony and Microsoft will be able to devise controllers in their next generation machines that incorporate motion sensing in a comepletely new way with upgraded tech, and you can bet Nintendo will be there when they do to jump back into the tech race.

wii will be discontuined after 2008 the graphics will suck when games start 2 use the xbox360 and ps3 potental.kemar7856

3. Xbox 360 - 50 million in 7 years

I expect Nintendo and Xbox360 make a new console in 7 years, while Sony will wait till the 10 year mark. 

So far, nobody's put the Wii in 3rd place (or, at least if someone did, I missed it).
So, I'm going to be different.

1.) PS3

This isn't what I want.  I'd rather have them all be equal, but this is my prediction.  Things may be going very differently from my prediction right now, but the game industry is pretty unpredictable.

I imagine after MGS 4 and FF, the PS3 will start getting more exclusives and eventually be on top.

The 360 follows closely behind with a solid library.

The Wii in last because, after the other two have a price drop, the casual audience may be turned off by the different playing mechanics(so far, most people I've know in real life don't plan on buying the Wii because they'd rather play with a normal controller) and the fact that the PS3 and 360 are cheap (this is at the end of this console generation after several price drops).  The PS3 and 360 start getting on top, and you guess that's the rest.

That's my prediction.  I'd still rather have it be a tie.  Competition is always good.

Well, I would really want all three of them to be in first place, with all of them having 33.3% share of the market.....which is almost impossible. I don't really care the order, as long as the sales are pretty close together so we can have a great competition.

We all know that competion = great games and services

I'd hate to see the Wii win the console wars. I dislike motion control--it's a novelty to me, and if the Wii wins, it will be a standard in the industry.

Basically anyone but MS at first, because if they win Microtransactions will be out of the roof. I will be happy if Sony or Nintendo wins though.

That is harsh to say stupid, but I do notice a trend that most of them have nothing better than to bash PS3/Wii in many forums besides GS. TeamXbox's forum for example. I notice most of the smart and nice 360 owners are part of achievement fansites.
