I was thinking the same thing. There's been a lot of speculation about a new halo though so here's hoping.

Too early for Halo 6, my best guess it might be referring to Halo reboot. But even so, I failed to see a reboot would help reviving Halo.

@davillain-: A pre-MC era prequel with some experimentation with player abilities could provide a fertile stop-gap before the next Xbox iteration. Possibly doing an ODST-like spin-off is certainly within reason.

What 343i has done to the narrative though is something I don’t see being rectified.

I should have specify the story. Halo 4 was good campaign wise but the story was not to my liking. Halo 5 took the awful story and made the campaign worse. I recently tried replaying Halo 5 and I couldn't stomach it after 30 minutes and that's with Co-op.

Even if it did, Halo 6 would still be under the influence of 343i's crap. It's like, if you hated Halo 4 and 5, what makes you think another shot at 4 would be any better? It's not Bungie! And if it's not Bungie, it's not really Halo! It's Power Rangers meets Call of Duty!

The problem with Halo at the moment is that they are trying to continue the story in the main campaign and they are writing themselves into a hole and ruining the single player experience. Halo main story has ended, so the continuation is forced. It would be best to explored parallel storytelling to the main rather than continuing it to oblivion.

I'm all up for it, if it involves playing as Sargent Johnson if 343 follows the book that is. I miss Johnson anyways, he needs to comeback to Halo.

While I have nothing wrong with Halo spin-offs, I am not one of those that are going to fume if a Halo game doesn't have Master Chief, I loved Halo ODST and Reach and those are probably amongy favorite Halo games. That being said, it would be incredibly stupid of them not to release the sequel Halo 5 needs after how they left that story where they did.

I wouldn't say SOD 2 flopped it's just unrealistic expectations because there hasn't been many 1st party releases recently.

No, Detroit wasn't among the highest profile Sony exclusives this year and was hyped according to the highest level a title of that nature could reasonably be hyped, 8.0.

Detroit is a lower caliber exclusive from Sony's lineup and thus had a lower than AAA hype level...with that said it was STILL hyped HIGHER than ANY MS exclusive this year which both still FAILED to meet their LOWER than Detroit hype levels!
