[QUOTE="nintendoboy16"]And yet, still pull the f*** through. IS it really that hard to grasp?Ragnarok1051
You'd rather a company who was failing at its job pull through? The Wii U so far is a failure and its all Nintendo's fault for it.

So you'd rather knock out a still very important first party in the industry?

and in 100 years they will still be releasing the same mario games.

HarlockJC

I'm cool with that.

There a reason people keep buying Nintendo games..and there also a reason why Mario Games keep scoring so high, because they are good.

Truth be with that my good man!

Claiming that any company will be around 100 years from now is just stupid.

Lol..Mirosoft has bigger chance of being here in 100 than Nintendo. And consoles have zero chances of surviving that long.

He's a good dev and i respect his opinion but honesty noone "knows" if even people will be around in 100 years let alone two fragile companies like MS and Nintendo.

This is just as I alwasy say. The SW fanboys can hope and dream about Nintendo's doom as they have been for 15 years, but it is just not gonna happen. Why anyone would want any of the three to fail can only be jelousy for those that can afford them all.

[QUOTE="RR360DD"]LOL indie opinioncharizard1605
Lemmings last gen, when Microsoft still had a lead on indie developers: 'indie games are the future! Indie developers are the best ones! Enjoy playing your AAA rehashes!' Lemmings this gen, when Microsoft has largely ditched indie developers: 'LOL indie developers'

Games aside, Indie devs do talk some sh*t.

So they have been in the business longer with no competitors, but as soon as there are competitors, they struggle and as soon as Sony entered they got spanked. They hit a one off fad with their Wii and have been kept afloat with handhelds for about 4 gens or so.

They don't want to take a risk, the Wii U is an excuse of a console. 'We're going to keep the performance low, because we want you to have a touch screen', don't think so. Out of date physics, ai...

The industry is moving into a place where Nintendo are going to struggle to move into. Not just hardware, but services as well. MS has just spent billions on cloud data centres all around the world, Nintendo are never going to do that, Sony might, but it'll take them some time to build that infrastructure (MS started in 2009). Sony have Gaikai, I don't see Nintendo doing that either. They are falling behind. It's just Mario and Zelda and whatever propping them up.

Right now i'd rather MS, at least they're continually researching and coming up with new things. MS and Sony are at the forefront, and Nintendo just can't keep up anymore.

Nintendo has been around for so many years and enjoyed so much success with their systems that its quite stupid to believe they're doomed..

Surely WiiU is not enjoying great sales but 3DS is doing great...

This is something people fail to understand. This is something they should have understood after the Gamecube era. A single console is a flash in a pan for Nintendo. The company has repeatedly made comebacks from adverse odds (NES, N64, Nintendo DS, Wii, 3DS), and one console's 'failure' will not spell dom for a company valued higher than Sony, and for a company with the most steady and ensured revenue stream out of all three thanks to its ensured properties such as Mario and Pokemon.

More importantly, remember that when a Nintendo system faces adverse odds is when it has the best library- see also: N64, Gamecube, 3DS.

charizard1605

Yeah, yeah... wait!? DOM!?

Nintendo has been around for years, heck i started seriously gaming on the Nintendo Gameboy/Snes so if Sony bows out of the gaming industry, not even a cent in my pocket goes to Microsoft, i despise their Xbox division that much, i would rather go back to Nintendo, atleast they understand the games industry unlike capitalist money hungry microsoft

Don't you belong to that other SW place?

FireEmblem_Man

Which is?

systemwars.com of course, since you were around the times of the ancients

Oh yes of course. I remember people talking about migrating there.

Nah, I'm not that hardcore. Look at my low level for a "since 2004" user, and low post count. I post for a short period, then go on with my life for a couple years, then I restart that cycle when I'm curious about what's going on in this place. If I'm barely a frequent Gamespot SW user, imagine having another account elsewhere. That's not for me.

Well, it's a good thing Nintendo will still be around in 100 years.....perhaps by that time they will have finally begun to catch up to what their competition has been doing for decades prior.

MayorJohnny

Which is..... Major focus on DLC, firmware updates, patches, paying to play online, obsession with gory or cinematic games, First Person Shooter saturation, Third Person Shooters, little focus on 3D or 2D platform games, racing games with gimmicks, glitches, inconsistent hardware quality, etc..... What else is Nintendo not doing? :D

Nah, more along the lines of no region locking, using a universal account system, taking more risks and creating new IPs, not such a reliance on 2D platformers and their established ones, developing a competent online infrastructure and online store, fully embracing DD, producing hardware that is not seven years behind everyone else and ceasing to use gimmicks to sell it, catering more to the Western market.....what else am I missing?

And it's funny you should mention hardware failures.....something that Nintendo has been suffering from with the Wii U.

I don't see why Nintendo would last any longer than Sony or Microsoft, I'd say they'll all be around in the next nuclear apocalypse. :P

What's really hilarious about this post is that Lorne Lanning won't be around to know if Microsoft is still here or not. LOL!! That's probably one of the dumbest comments I've ever seen a developer make.

Everyone will be playing set top boxes that does everything a PC does on their 8K HDTV's. lol!! There will be no need for keyboard or mouse, as everything will be voice activated. There will be 50 terabyte storage units that hold all the data, apps, games, stc...

I dont get why indie developers are getting so much press lately, and why their naive and obviously clueless opinions about the reality of the real world seem to be admired by so many. "Hurr, Microsoft wont give me $10 million to make my black and white spaghetti cooking simulator which is all in french, **** the system, all they care about is money."

This is just entirely false. Microsoft is so big and owns so much of the market, the idea that they would die out before a games only company is crazy.

Not really anymore many indie developers are pissed at Microsoft currently.

A lot of them also love how Nintendo is catering to indie developers they said it isn't as good as Sony but it is still a lot better then Microsoft.

He was probably one of those clowns I had to deal with in college who kept claiming Linux would take over by 2012. Microsoft had a net profit of 4 1/2 billion dollars. That was with surface manufacturing costs. Silly indie devs.

Well, Nintendo has managed to be around for over 100 years already, and they still make profit and have tons in the bank, so it's isn't too unrealistic I suppose. Bot of course it is unknown what the hell will happen with the gaming industry or in the world in general in the next 100 years so who knows,
