I just finished the evil ending of the game (after finishing the good ending) and I thoroughly believe that the game is superior in everyway over infamous 2.The game is what a sequel should be, bigger and better. The UGC feature is an ingenious way to infinitely prolong the gaming experience. I remember there being a thread about how infamous had the best ending this gen, but I think that inFamous 2's evil and good endings topped infamous by a long shot. Particularly the evil ending, [*spoiler]the way youkill Zekewasa really really sad moment[*/spoiler]. I really thought the way they ended the game was epic, if abit absolute [*spoiler] either Cole dies saving humaniy or becomes the beast destroying it[*/spoiler] but of course in a game of good/evil that is to be expected, and I loved it. The graphics are so much better, and the CGI cutscenes ground the story so much more than in the first game. Of course this is only an opinion but I truly believe in it( lol if that means anything).

You mean in every way superior to Infamous 1. If you do then I agree. Look at the average reviews for Infamous 2. You'll find GS is in the very very miniscule minority in their review score. Only thing #1 had going for it over Infamous 2 is that it was a new IP at the time and it did very well.

From what I've seen and read, InFamous 2 crushes the first. It should have gotten at least an 8.5. That's what I hear from people. I haven't played it yet lol.

Sucker Punch are a small, very creative, and hungry studio. They also just hired Jaime Griesemer, ex Bungie designer. I'd love to see what they are doing next.

7.5 here and low 80's at GR/MC. That doesn't seem like a AAA game to me. I'm glad you and others have enjoyed it though.

On other sites? For the most part yes.

On GS and GS spreadsheet? No it's not.

I played both inFamous games, and I can say that neither are AAA despite how I greatly enjoyed both of them.

However I don't think I2 is a 7.5 game either.

Personally I found it to be 8.0-8.5 ish. I've encountered numerous glitches with the camera freezing or jumping out in places (especially after those hold triangle to look at something times) so I had to suicide, those things shouldn't exist in AAA games IMO. It's understandably since Sucker Punch isn't that big of a team, and they didn't have that much time to make this game.

Speaking of which, I think the game could have benefited from a couple of extra months. I can't put my fingers on something specific, but I often feel that the developpers spend too much time improving the graphics instead of everything else. They tried to add variety in the enemies, but somehow it just feels very repetitive anyway since you use the same strategy at the same enemy everytime. The side missions have improved considerably though, not to mention the UGC.

For the next sequel I hope they stop with the melee camera too. It's not that important to watch the same 1 or 2 ultra finishes every. damn. time. when you'd rather look at the battlefield or aim your next victim better.

inFamous 1 is kinda too praised. It got boring as hell half way through because the missions were boring as hell (defending a moving bus really?)

I would have to disagree much like infamous 1 it was a very lame game I will give it props for developing a far better script then infamous 1
I mean really any game that does not contain the sequence of dwights sister is ready for the getting..and this is 2 hours after she has learnt her brother is dead..
but thats all I can give it props for it froze up just as many times as infamous 1 its story was just as inane, and they really changed the formula for the worse infamous 1 being a very distance game infamous 2 pretty much requiring close quarters combat at most all times. The good ending was predictable and it seems from what i hear the evil ending was just thrown together at the last minute ill have to rerent it and get the evil dending I already have 74% of the trophies so far.

Honestly, the first was the 7.5. It felt unfinished and the glitches were horrendous. However, the 2nd one felt more complete and it was way more fun for me. I feel that it should have been an 8.5-9.0, but unfortunately, GS thought different

ABCarmine

Agree completely. Both highly underrated and underappreciated. The elements in Alan Wake are so unique and the story telling is top notch. Not to mention the gameplay and visuals as well are top notch. Definitely AAA. Infamous 2 just flat out topped its predecessor in every way. Definitely AAA as well.

Yep, Infamous 2s 7.5 was totally undeserved, that game felt 9.0 to me, and I am tough to impress.

Don't know what Alan Wake got on here, better go check that out...

**Edit**

An 8.5, surprised me, as I expected them to give it a bad review, felt more 9/10 to me.

Oh a twist...I didn't realize that, I better watch the cutscene again. I actually agree with McShea to an extent. While I2 made a lot of big improvements, I felt that the first game was far better paced, and did a better job at keeping me invested in it's story and world. I2 just didn't move along as seamlessly (those mini-bosses DID get grating and monotonous after a while) and there was certain times I just wanted the game to hurry up and move on. Still, 7.5 was far too harsh. Not sure what McShea was thinking there. I would give I2 a 8.5 as it is still a great game when all is said and done.

It was tradgecially underrated here on GS. If Infamous 1 got a 9.0, I don't see how Infamous 2 gets a 7.5 ..... from the same damn reviewer. I could see why people would rate it an 8.5 but I would have given it a 9.0 simply because its production quality puts Infamous 1 to shame.

You guys putting up Gamespot on some type of pedestal are a joke, that score they gave that game is atrocious. I don't care how big the name Gamespot is, they should have no credibility after pulling crap like this again and again. 8.5 is the very worst score iNfamous 2 deserves, the-very-worst. The game is truthfully at least a nine.

I definately enjoyed it and so did plenty of other reviewers (there ARE other reviewers besides GS guys, who have been proven to biased).

I wouldn't give it a 9 though... mabey an 8.5

But I like 1-5 rating system more without half points so I would give it a 4 out of 5 personally.

I think, these threads should just be locked, so much QQ over a damn score, it was the reviewer's OPINION. No game is entitled to a perfect score, and why can't people just accept their precious game didn't get the score they want, and go on with their life, it doesn't make the game any worse for you to enjoy it more than the reviewer.

"herpa-derp, gamespot game score is all that matters, doesn't matter what any body else gives it, herpa-derp", that doesn't sound familiar? what makes it worse is that it got the worst score possible here.

I wasn't joking when I said I don't care for review sites and their scores, and that I sincerely put Gamefly scores over it, simply because it's the general public's opinion. One persons crappy opinion shouldn't be put over all others like that.

Good, me neither, in fact I buy games based on my interests alone, unless the reviews said that the game was technically unfinished and broken I don't care for an arbitrary number given to please metacritic. This does not change the fact that I can allow others to express their opinion about the games that I love, without me raging on for weeks as if it affects my enjoyment of the game. You have to learn to take criticism in life anyway, it's not the devs are a bunch of 8 year old who cry if their game don't get AAA on one website.

there is no irony, my opinion falls in line with the majority of people's opinion of the game. I can respect it if their opinion was truly their own and they didn't conitnue saying, "oh, but Gamespot said this", but that's not what happens here 75% of the time.

Alright I think you just haven't been here long. This forum isn't called System Wars for no reason. Needless to say the status of InFamous as a highly hyped PS3 exclusive make it more sensitive. Just ignore those "HA 7.5 OWNED" posts as they most likely never played the game and never will. It doesn't matter if your opinion is somehow the majority, it's still just an opinion. I'm certain that the "majority" once had the opinion that the Earth was flat. :P I'm a big fan of the inFamous franchise, even bought the Hero edition of I2, but I'd lie to myself if I said that it's AAA. I still respect anyone else' honest opinion about the game including yours.

Disagree, it became very repetitive over time, the graphics were just average, and the protagonist is lame. The game was fun....For about 2 hours, then it was tedious until the end.

It's an AAA by industry standards. (High budget, high profile game) By SW jargon, it's an A-game a flop. Deal with it.

Correction - some of the graphics look average. A lot of it's effects actually look damn impressive for a console game. While I agree that the main game got repetitive in spots, I'm currently playing around with a lot of the UGC and there's some neat variety there. If more people get better at using it and are creative I could keep playing I2 for a while.

Oh, and I liked Cole way more this time around. SP actually gave him some charisma.

I would have to disagree much like infamous 1 it was a very lame game I will give it props for developing a far better script then infamous 1 but thats all I can give it props for it froze up just as many times as infamous 1 its story was just as inane, and they really changed the formula for the worse infamous 1 being a very distance game infamous 2 pretty much requiring close quarters combat at most all times. The good ending was predictable and it seems from what i hear the evil ending was just thrown together at the last minute ill have to rerent it and get the evil dending I already have 74% of the trophies so far.

hmm thats weird infamous 1 never froze on me once and i got the platinum for it ages ago. seems more like it might be something wrong with your ps3. i wouldnt be surprised, you sound like you hate the thing in every single one of your post. i wouldnt be surprised if you throw it around and step on it just because.
