Why are they so gaga over this game, it looks so run of the mill. Toriko42run of the mill? name a next gen game that is similar. I think that its a nice break from the run of the mill FPS games that we have been bombarded with this gen.
It will be AAA on IGN because they love to overrate PS3 exclusives like Uncharted(9.1), Little Big Planet(9.6), Resistance 2(9.5, LOL what) and Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction(9.4) and just recently Killzone 2(9.4).
It's not a bad thing, just obvious.:P

or maybe they like ps3 games because they are actually good.I would rate all those games the same as i have a different taste in games just like ign. Im not saying that all 360 games are bad because they are not but all those games deserve those scores IMO.

yeah its kinda nice considering Gamespot likes to overrate Xbox exclusives. I have played and brought every Microsoft published shooter this gen so far and enjoyed them(PDZ, Halo 3, Gears of War 1 and 2), maybe Gamespot has great taste in games.[QUOTE="mitu123"]

I honestly can' t see Resistance 2 deserving a 9.5, Killzone 2 looks more worthy of that score.[QUOTE="mitu123"]

It's not like they're that off of the agregate review score like GS, who severely underated a few of those exclusives mentioned Until I play Uncharted, I'm with Gamespot and not IGN.run of the mill? name a next gen game that is similar. I hate to be the one to say "OMG Company X paid off Site Y!!!", but when IGN's inFamous site has much more content and more Sony logos/trademarks than the game's official site, questions should be raised. There's no way it scores less than a 9 (and I'm being conservative).
Yeah, and this is going to bring the "IGN is teh bias" or "u cant spellz IGN without IGNorant!" comments from lemmings. IGN may shoot themselves in the foot for hyping the game, but it wont take away from whatever score IGN will give. Dont you mean you cant spell Ignorant without IGN?...or at least i can spell IGN without the rest of it... Whoops, yes that's what I mean :P[QUOTE="Alpha-Male22"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]
Even though it'll most likely get atleast AA here, I'd warn cows against the eventual hype that comes with the IGN review. We all know this game will get a crazy high score on IGN. They've been crazy about it for months and months.

Crackdown for one and for 2? I really don't get why GS are seen as such harsh critics.. they gave freakin assassins creed a 9 and GTA 4 a 10 you combine both those games and you get infamous.

Not really GTA IV is the best game this generation next to Metal Gear Solid IV. GTA IV has stellar character development, a great story, fittingly awesome gameplay, perfect presentation, and it's a blast to play. Assassin's Creed is alright. I'd say Crackdown is the closest we've seen to Infamous and I expect Infamous to do not much better.I really don't get why GS are seen as such harsh critics.. they gave freakin assassins creed a 9 and GTA 4 a 10 you combine both those games and you get infamous.

I own GTA4 and played through Assassin's Creed. I have the demo of inFAMOUS and I can honestly say that the climbing in infamous is better than the one in Assassin's Creed and thats the only thing I liked about it. GTA4 had nice controls but I can't agree on the great story part and the blast to play part, it went a step backward in those areas compared to the other games in the series. I haven't played crackdown so I can't compare it to that but infamous really feels like a combo of the good in assassins creed and the good in GTA4. I can't say much about the story since I haven't played the game but it looks like sucker punch put in a lot of work into developing the characters and making it interesting.

Infamous is a muck up of different ideas. You are a super hero with super powers. They are most similar to a game like the force unleashed, but it has the platforming and climbing elements of assassins creed, but with more freedom. And it has some minor RPG elements, you gain experience, gain new and stronger abilities. Plus there is the good and evil aspect.. And it has a comic book atmosphere that gives it its own feel. I think it will be a much better game than crackdown.I really don't get why GS are seen as such harsh critics.. they gave freakin assassins creed a 9 and GTA 4 a 10 you combine both those games and you get infamous.

Crackdown is a combo of them with tighter gameplay and it's totally over the top.Of course they are excited, they are announcing the date and time of review. How often does that happen?
The game could actually be good though, maybe that's why they are excited.

I agree with you on LBP, R2, R&C, i would score them slightly lower (9.0, 9.0 and 8.5, respectively), but IMO Uncharted and Killzone 2 are not overrated. I played all those games btw.
[QUOTE="Nike_Air"]I really wouldn't be surprised if this happenedThey will give it an 8.8 and Gamespot will give it 7.5

Score aside, I'll still be getting this game. GS is a bit weird at times. Like overscoring Assassin Creed and underscoring Uncharted. I prefer Game Rankings or Metacritic for review scores.
