infamous or gta4

very different games but if i really had to compare them i would say infamous, i had fun the entire time and am already playing again, gta4 was fun for the first city but then it started getting worse and worse, i struggled to beat the game, only time i go back to play is to just rampage around, but even that is not as fun as the older GTAS.
ya in gta 4 free roaming is gay cause the cops come after every little thingvery different games but if i really had to compare them i would say infamous, i had fun the entire time and am already playing again, gta4 was fun for the first city but then it started getting worse and worse, i struggled to beat the game, only time i go back to play is to just rampage around, but even that is not as fun as the older GTAS.

"Sandbox" isn't a game genre.
Its more like a type of environment i.e. Crysis had sandbox levels. So you can't compare game quality based on that aspect alone.
If you want to compare just the "sandbox" aspect alone, then GTA takes the cake as its larger world with interior models, vehicles and interactive NPCs.
I just couldn't get into GTA4. I mean driving around and killing people and then running away from cops was cool but the actual fighting to me was poor. I loved the ease of movement in Infamous coupled with the FPS like controls for super powers. I just got bored of GTA4 after a few sittings.
i couldn't agree moreHaving super-powers on a sandbox game > not having super-powers on a sandbox game.

MetaCritic...GTA4-98......inFAMOUS-85

Considering this is a thread about which one you prefer, that's pretty irrelevent. ;)
InFamous, I beat the game about 97% through (Can't find the last three blast shards), and I only got tired of it once, and that was looking for the remaining shards. In GTA4 I can only play that for about an hour until I get bored, but InFamous can last me for hours.
metacritic isnt everything. reviewers get up their a## in hype tooMetaCritic...GTA4-98......inFAMOUS-85

Grand Theft Auto 4 hands down... Seen this exact poll done elsewhere and GTA 4 wins by quite a bit, funny how things are so different here.
Anyways, huge fan of inFamous(favorite game of 2009 so far), but GTA 4 was just a lot more flawless overall then inFamous, while both were lacking, what was actually there in GTA 4 was more flawless than what was there than in inFamous. Obviously my opinion.

The characters are also more memorable,
better acting,
NPCs have more personality,
the story and personality is more fleshed out with Niko Belic,
more to do-use the internet,
tvs, jobs, accessories, music radios
many weapons to use.

correct. Naturally Infamous is a new game and have more attention initially over an older game there is a bit of bias-since this SystemWars-more Cows more points towards an exclusive.
it should be Infamous vs Prototype.
I have this feeling it would be skewered towards Infamous-even though form the onset of initial reviews that they seem pretty equal.
LOL, this thread comes down to: PS3 exclusive Vs. None PS3 exclusive.... On SW, PS3 exclusives all ways win!Shattered007
correct also that's one of the underlying subtle trends here in Systemwars.
Doesn't matter anyway. actual realworld outside of systemwars matters>SystemWars
This pretty much says it all...Having super-powers on a sandbox game > not having super-powers on a sandbox game.

To bad infamous has such horrible graphics :/ Would probably liked it otherwise.
the graphics are better than anything on 360
infamous graphics are actually really nice.....only problem is jaggies on some cars.....and other jaggies on other smaller objects.......mostly roadside..[QUOTE="aceReborn"]

Who exactly are you trying to kid here. InFamous is going to be remembered for a lot of things, and graphics aren't one of them. That you would even claim it beats the 360's entire library is laughable at best.Edit: I guess I should stay on topic, I've played a demo copy and my friends copy of infamous only so far, so I can't say how long it would hold my interest, but it does feel good and has an interesting premise. GTA4's multiplayer can be really rediculously fun though, so it's a tough choice without playing more of infamous.
I've just completed Infamous (tried to be good all the way through) and I'm playing through it again straight away (this time I'll be evil ). I only played through GTAIV once... I did really enjoy it at the time but there was nothing to make me want to play through it again. Infamous is just FUN. Just wish it wasn't so buggy.
