Infendo Reviews Metroid Other M after just 5 hours!/Update response from site!

3/5 stars and the reviewer is only 1/3 of the way through the game. It is one thing to not like a game, but it is unprofessional to review it after 1/3 playtime. Not to mention there are NDA's until Friday. The reviewer complains about being stuck (in a Metroid game) and not being able to dodge in fps, which you can. Also, right after he says he got stuck, he says the game is too linear.

Look,

If the guy isn't enjoying the game having played 1/3rd of the way through it then why can't his review reflect this. Most normal consumers wouldn't force their way through a full game if they weren't enjoying it so what he has done is imo a true and accurate reflection of his experience with the game rather than one that has been forced and unrealistic.

He played the game, got stuck and frustrated after getting 1/3rd of the way through and that's his honest review.

It does seem to be getting mixed reviews.

Gameinformer gave it a 8/10, seems it will just be a average game. Gameinformer is usually generous with there scores, atleast alot more then gamespot. I expect a 7.5 here :|

GI Australia gave it an 8. American GI has already stated that their review is much different, for better or worse. Besides, GI is the worst magazine to ever exist, worse than Gamepro which is saying alot.

Which means no proof. So your saying the average score for Other M is a 60% right now? I see an 8.5 and an 80%, with the one in question at 60%. Not to far off eyy?

not trolling since I am and probably always will be a sheep at heart, but if nintendo power actually gave this game an 8.5, then I dont have very high hopes for this game anymore. Hopefully GS will prove me wrong, but from the start I was slightly sceptical at a 3Dish game just being controlled with the wiimote alone

You realize Nintendo does not own NP anymore, it is owned by some British company. Don't know what the shock would be anyway, Np gave OoT a 9.5 which is lower than the standard, even when they owned it.

Reviewing this game with only 1/3 completed is just stupid because the story is a huge part of the game. It would be like reading a third of a book, or watching 40 minutes of a movie, and then passing judgement on it.

Not really a surprise with the score, but what concerns me more is the time that it took to write that review in regard to the limited playtime of the game.

I'd fire somebody if they submitted a review to me after only having played half the game, or in the least yell at him and tell him to go back, finish the game, then rewrite the review.

I don't care if that's enough time to "get a feel for the game", that's unprofessional as hell, regardless of how right he is about the game.

I wonder now, how many reviewers honestly complete the games while reviewing them? How many wrong scores are out there?

Now, I want to discuss the main complaint I have with Other M. Unfortunately, it is so big and glaring that it really takes away from what would otherwise be a great game: THE CUT SCENES. Giving Samus a voice was the worst idea in the history of ideas. I know Metroid fans have been clamoring for this for a long time. All I can say is, be careful for what you wish for. Team Ninja has turned a video game fantasy into a nightmare. Samus is a whiny soul searching brat. Instead of coming across as the sexy confident bounty hunter we all thought she was, she turns out to be nothing more than a rebellious and insecure teenage girl with a daddy complex.

Master Chief FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im kidding really, I don't like Samus or Chief, personally I think Commander Shepard would take them both out any day of the week twice on sunday.
