Injustice 2, Street Fighter II (Switch), or Marvel vs Capcom Infinite - which do you want to play more?

I'm contemplating getting Injustice 2, although when I played the beta, the gameplay seemed pretty similar to the last one, which I wasn't that big of a fan of. Maybe it will rub off on me. I'm definitely getting Street Fighter II for Switch, a game like that on a portable system is a no brainer. But the one game I want the most is Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. That franchise is just pure fun and fan service. So that is my pick. What about you, SW?

First off, let me just say that I'm not very good at fighting games, even though I do enjoy them.

Of those? Injustice 2. Injustice 1 was probably my second favourite fighting game ever (see the third paragraph for my first favourite), though a large part of that was due to the material (I grew up reading DC comics). So yeah, I do hope it comes to my platform of choice eventually. MvC is coming to my platform, but the whole "not quite Street Fighter, not quite Marvel game" concept looks a little weird to me. I still might get it, but I kind of think Capcom should do what NetherRealm did and make a pure Marvel fighting game with its own unique identity to go head-to-head with Injustice.

But as I said in another thread, what I really, really want is a new Soul Calibur game, so I'm probably going to be insta-buying Tekken 7 to try to make that happen.

Maybe make this a poll? If Injustice comes to PC like its predecessor did that is my pick. I am a Street Fighter fan but have no interest in a remake of a remake of a game that is 25+ years old.

Street Fighter II no question. Its one of the best fighting games ever made. Only Smash Bros stands in its way. Gonna tear that shit up at work. Everyone getting challenged. Gonna be takin lunches everyday.

Right now, I rather play way more with Injustice 2 cause I'm so addicted to the game and I love fighting games and I'm not gonna bother with Street Fighter 2 or MvC Infinite.

I saw Conan compare NRS' fighting games to God of War. And it's a great comparison. It's how I see their games. They're more than competent, but they're not up there with the more technical stuff like Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, and such. And it's why I dig that. It's for me. I like the higher tier franchises out there, but I'm just no good at them. Or can't be bothered.

So something like MK is more than fine for me, in the same way God of War is more than fine for a person that doesn't need DMC or Ninja Gaiden for his/her hack and slash needs.

Character action. Whatever we call it nowadays. An RPG, perhaps.

I'm not a fighting game fan anymore. The last I bought was MKX (favorite fighting series) about 2 years ago. Got boring rather quickly. I won't pay full price for another fighter ever again.

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is definitely the one that I want to play the most since I'm both a big fan of Capcom fighting games and the Marvel universe. Street Fighter II The Final Challengers is next because Street Fighter II is just pretty damn awesome. Injustice 2 would be third because while it is pretty cool I'm just not all that big of a fan of NRS fighters or DC.

Definitely Injustice 2. I already have Street Fighter 2 on the Switch, and it's great, too. But Injustice 2 is where all my attention will go.

Tekken 7 is the only fight game I want.

Injustice 2 looks more interesting than the others to me. Mostly because I like how the are adding gear to the game.

Interested in SF2 and MvCI. But most likely going to wait for the Super Ultimate Delixe Edition on the latter

The other 2, since 1 is one of the greatest fighting games ever made, period (barring it being a port of hd remix), and the other is a sequel to a series that has always played well. NRS fighting games are at best okay, they are fine, they are fun in bursts, fun as a party game, fun for the amount of time you can waste on single player content. But the pure meat n potatoes aspect of a fighting game: the fighting engine and actually playing other people more straight up: It's wildly outclassed. Shit's not even close.

It doesn't help that I hate how NRS games feel because of their buttastic animations.

I hear the animations have been fixed in Injustice 2? They seem to be fine in the videos I have seen, but I may be wrong

Out of those choices I would be more inclined to play Street Fighter 2 as I haven't played much of it even tho it was one of the first fighting games I ever played. In all honesty I would play the new guilty gear and KOF games over those choices.

They are good in facial shit, but the actual fight engine? nah mate, just watch a match of that, and now go watch a match of MKX (for reference as that is considered shoddy), and then go look at something like Guilty Gear or even the new King of Fighters. As fugly as people think the new KoF, pure animations are concerned it's far more fluid than what NRS does.

Not interested in IJ2.

I hopped on HD Remix last night. I played for a while with the fight stick, was fun. But then I switched over to a regular controller, which is what I'd have to use on the Switch anyways. No good. So it looks like I might just pass on USF2, at least for the time being.

MvCI, yeah, I'll get that. Never been a huge fan of MvC, but I always thought they were pretty fun. MvC2 being my favorite of the bunch. And MvCI has a lot of changes coming, so it could be more my thing. Either way I'm sure I'll enjoy how it plays.

Eh, I'm just getting this for the story content and for some party fun with friends anyway, so it's alright.

Injustice. Solid foundations, bigger and better roster. Hitting it's stride, intriguing story.

Then MVC, from someone who played them all, Capcom is still in the doghouse for releasing half games and then releasing full editions for half price only months later hence punishing loyal customers like me.

Lastly, Street Fighter 2, a barely improved port of an old game with two of the laziest additional characters I've seen. Pallet swaps make a budget title a £35 game? Give over. I played Special Championship edition decades ago.

Capcom didn't do that with SFV and still supporting after 1.5 years despite the lackluster launch and sales, i can argue that they learned their lesson, what i don't get is how everyone giving NRS the pass for announcing 10 dlc characters before game even launched and asking people to pay $100+ to get all characters... Sigh, i think people should start using i will wait for GOTY Edition with NRS games now instead of Capcom.

Tekken 7.

I was thinking of getting Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, I only really played the 2nd game a ton on original Xbox, then again on Xbox 360 when it was on the XBLA line-up. I'd be content if Capcom let MvC2 slide on into the XB1's BC catalog, but don't imagine they'll do that for a long while since Ulimate MvC3 just released not that long ago.

Anyhow, given that WBIE has given us two Injustice games, wonder if they'll ever do another MK vs DC fighting game. Never got to try that last gen, would love to if given a chance.

I am totally biased here, but Ultra SF2, hands-down. It's for the Switch, and I grew up with SF2 so it will always be my go-to fighting game series.

I'm happily surprised by all the praise Injustice 2 has been receiving and it looks fun but I don't care much for super heroes stuff especially from DC.

Guilty Gear, The King of Fighters, Blazblue, Skullgirls, and Marvel vs Capcom are more my style.

I'd put Street Fighter over Injustice though.

Virtua Fighter 5 is literally in Yakuza 6 as one of many mini games, 6 doesn't come out till early 2018 though.

Yakuza is the best series in the universe :)

It has mini games that are better than full games.

It's does lack content though.

I've played so much SF2 already, and don't really care for the hot mess that are the Marvel vs Capcom games. So I'll go with a game that pits Superman against humans as if it's fair, packed with lesser-known characters generally.

I already have Injustice 2. While the fighting system is weak compared to Street Fighter V's, it's still a lot of fun and the content is plentiful.

I have no interest in the other two. I've played enough Street Fighter II and, if MvCI is anything like the last, it's just a badly designed fighter IMO.

Well from THAT list, I would probably go with MVC, just because I have been playing Street fighter 2 since the SNES/Genesis Days, and to me it's getting a little stale.

But I prefer Guilty Gear :P

I was pretty pumped about SF2 until I saw that it was $40. I think I'll just stick with SF5. Injustice 2 is going to be a lot of fun, too.

@Kashiwaba: Capcom are on an extended probation. They were probably my favourite developer at one point, and they let me down. They are Still releasing half a game for full price and then releasing the rest through season pass DLC. Look at the amount of fighters KOF has in comparison.

SF V released half finished, for full price, and it was the first time I didn't rush to buy a capcom street fighter. I still don't own it.
