Do you ever just stare at a disk and say "wow"? I have, several times. What are your favorite unpackaging moments?

Opening up Crysis: Special Edition and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.

God, I have never been as excited as when I got those two games.

I was really excited when I opened up Crysis too... just seeing that game is a joy. It's incredible what graphics really can do for a game.

It's not a disk, but nothing would relive the awesomeness of holding this cart just before you jam it in your NES for the greatest gaming adventure of it's time.

It doesn't have to be a disk. You should have seen me open up Super Metroid.... haha, staring at things before I even play them is routine for me. :P

Yeah dude. For a while, I didn't even take it out of the box after unwrapping it. I just took it into the bathroom with me and just sat on the toilet holding it in my arms while screaming at the top of my lungs at the ceiling for about 20 minutes with tears in my eyes.

Lately it was Fallout 3.

All time? Ocarina of Time, man I remember that day like yesterday. I went to the store during lunch break in High School to reserve it, went to my mom's working place to say hi (she used to work next to where a Gaming store used to be). Then I came back in the evening to take it.

It was un-credible.

LOL. I remember that vid. That kid must've had enough caffeine and sugar in him to kill a deer with his bare hands.nervmeister
 funny comparison.

Why would a 9 year old kid would kill a deer, that I do not know...

nothing stands out at all? For me, when I grab Halo Wars on March 3rd, I won't be nearly excited as when I grab MadWorld a few days later because I have already played Halo Wars (demo). This is one of the reasons why I hate demos. It's great to know what your buying, but in the same sense... I hate seeing a game before I get... it's just lame.

Yeah when I bought a Wii I was more worried about whether or not I got hypothermia and did not get to enjoy it...and the worse part is I do not play the system anymore...froze for nothing.

For my 6th birthday, I got two games, Super Mario Bros. 3 and the original Zelda.

Didn't hit me till years later, but you couldn't pay to have such a classic matchup given to you at the age of 6. That makes me say wow.

Hopefully not for nothing... I mean... Super Mario Galaxy was the most exciting package opening sequence for me since OoT.

Yeah Super Mario Galaxy was pretty exciting when my brother bought, but I remember how hard it was for us to get OoT, and when we finally did, it was the most exciting moment since Zelda Link to the Past.

Ah, MGS2! Man, I was rubbing my bare chest up against the screen in a mind-bending euphoric state by that game's end. I swear on my court therapist that it was one of the greatest gaming experiences of my life.

For some reason, despite how often I tend to just leave the games alone after playing them for about 10 hours, opening a new Madden or any sports game gets me excited. I think it has to do with that clean, presentation they have.

Opening up Metal Gear Solid titles, Square-Enix titles, Bioware, The Legend of Zelda and Halo also get me excited and let me know I'm in for a great ride.

He could have been a little more rugged I think... or at least a little less bleached blonde. lol.

EDIT: I'm kidding to all of you blondies out there. lol.

EDIT 2: I did like how they made him alot tougher in MGS4.

Yeah I think SMG is the best game this gen. To answer to thread in the OP, my jaw dropped when I opened SMG.
I hope the next Zelda amazes me, TP wasn't that great.

Oh and I forgot to answer the question. I don't actually remember opening Zelda OoT for the first time but I do remember discovering it months later buried under god knows what in my basement. I remember feeling very happy. I popped the game into my N64 and a rush of memories hit me when I saw the title screen. Fantastic game.
