Not a big loss. We have enough FPS games already and Resistance never was that great. Solid, but forgettable.
I found Resistance to be a bit on the meh side to be honest, if you want your fps to do well these days it is either going to have to stand out or be selling off the name of the series which had at least one strong entry.
Sad to see so many of these harsh comments. Resistance 3 is my GOTY for 2011 (so far) based on the campaign. I'm not saying they should make another Resistance and I'm glad they are trying a new IP in Overstrike .... but where's the love for Resistance 3? :(
Good. After that online pass garbage that Sony started with this game I don't really care for it. You see Sony as long as a game sells well you make the cash, when it doesn't you don't make much. Online Passes will not help you out. Your game sells or it doesn't.
one more of the bad PS exclusives are gone. That is really good news as long as there is a good one to be replaced. Hopefully there will be another game like Heavy Rain for PS4, of course more uncharted, killzone, ratchet and clank and little big planet for me thanks.
Did not say anything about that in the article. Also they dont want to go down M$ route by making a game over and overSee what happens when you don't buy exclusives cows?

I had no idea people felt this way about the series. I thought the concensus was that it was an average fps people liked. Maybe that was just for the benefit of exclusive wars.

no, they don't want to go down that route with games that don't sell for ****
How many game should they make in a franchise? ...better to leave a party too early than too laterawsavon
They should have just done 3 main entries and tied up the entire series. Instead R3 seemed completely detached from the other games and didn't wrap anything up with the plot from the first 2 games.

I have R3, but I have not played it yet ...disappointing to hear though. I actually liked (not loved) the first 2 games. I just find it funny b/c people complain/are upset when a series ends AND when it gets milked. ...sometimes they are just over (or should be)...like God of WarThey should know by now that multiplayer sells most FPS game, not single player. They should have made even more of an emphasis on the class based Co-Op, the Co-Op was by far the best and most popular part of Resistance 2... hours upon hours of endless fun. I'm not sure if they included it with Resistance 3 or not though since I didnt end up buying it. I also just couldn't stand Resistance 3's controls for some reason. If they made a new game that was basically a standalone version of Resistance 2's co-op only upgraded into a full game(with no competitive multilayer or single player modes) and focused all of their effort into making that Co-op as amazing as possible with a lot of levels and weapons to unlock, and different kinds of classes to use to work together as a team, I'd buy it in a heartbeat, even for $60... Messiahbolical-They also screwed up the 2 reasons I bought it: Sharphooter and 3D support. The 3D efffect for the reticle made it such that if you zoomed in, there were two reticles, making percision impossible. The Sharpshooter support was also screwed up... if you zoomed in, the movement speed of your aiming was as slow as molasses, also negating any efforts to fire with any accuracy. While I heard they ultimately patched the Sharpshooter zoom issue, the damage was done. It was, in short, a technical mess. I expected so much more.

I was hoping for a great ending but they didn't even come close (I would go into more detail but I don't want to spoil it).
DEfinitely agree on God of War though. GoW3 plays exactly how GoW1 did and there was no added depth to the combat in any of the iterations (aside from maybe the golden fleece but that was pretty basic stuff). I'd be much more interested to see what Santa Monica could do if they put their talents elsewhere on a new IP
Oh shut you. You lemmings called Resistance crap all the time. Now that no more are being made, suddenly it is a perfectly good franchise. Give it a rest already.See what happens when you don't buy exclusives cows?

The only co op they had in R3 was 2 player co op for the campaign which was buggy/laggy as hell and there wasn't even matchmaking. You could only play with someone on your friends list.
I probably put 30 hours alone into R2's co op and had all the classes maxed out so not having something like that was a huge letdown for me. Plus the online MP was dreadful.
That just means someone else will make Resistance games.SaltyMeatballs

I am VERY sad to hear this about R3...it was setup (story wise) to end really well. In regards to GOW3, I could kiss you right now (full or non homo your choice). I say the exact same things about it all the time and get blasted here as a Sony Hater (even though I have owned all 3 playstations and never owned an xbox)resistance 2 is my alltime favorite ps3 game , i of course bought also 3 but after playing that BS (referring to the multiplayer ,at least that what was left of it in the 3rd part) im happy there will be no resistance game anymore from insiomiacSee what happens when you don't buy exclusives cows?

Clever.Thanks. Now I know to never buy Resistance 3. The Resistance 2 awesome class-based Co-op was really the only reason I was looking forward to R3 so, and now I know it's not in the game I don't have to waste any money on it. I appreciate looking out for me.The only co op they had in R3 was 2 player co op for the campaign which was buggy/laggy as hell and there wasn't even matchmaking.
