Insomniac CEO Ted Price enjoys his close relationship with Sony quite a bit, but also sees the benefits of allowing titles to go multiplatform. In an interview with Gamasutra, Price admitted that he could "see the other side" of exclusivity and the profits that big games make by being playable on other platforms.

But, then again, we see the other side too. We see games that are multiplatform succeeding wildly, and doing great, and that too is a fantastic place to be.

Ratchet And Clank: Seizing Exclusives Matters Xbox 360 only or Multiplat release for Ps3/360 ( But the 360 version would look better and have exclusive DLC at the marketplace), your heard it here first

They aren't second party anyways, right? They just choose to make games for Sony's console only... so in theory anything can come almost, right? doubt Ratchet and Resistance games out now would... but future ones could...

It could be interesting?

...

Some games are simply not meat to go multiplat and By that I mean First and second party games, do you want the Ps3 to die? If it loses even Resistance and Ratchet then all is lost for real

I'm not talking about resistance an R&C going multiplat.

I'm talking about Insomniac being quality devs. I'm talking new IP's

Sony likely owns the IPs like they do with so many of their published games ... so it would have to be a new project if they went that route in the future.

Insomniac does much better when I buy their games religiously, as I do.

I own R1, R2, and Ratchet and I'll buy their next game too if they keep it up.

I doubt we'll see them go multiplat any time soon. They seem to like their relationship with Sony. What other publisher with financial resources of Sony's caliber would give Insomniac so much autonomy? Besides all their PS3 games have sold at least 1 million copies.

People who don't like sub-par software homogenized to reach an appropriately broad audience. I expect the quality to suffer the instant they decide to develop games multiplatform. And they can expect my loyalty to dwindle significantly.

Doesn't Sony own the rights to Insomniac's games that are out now? It would just mean that they would have to come up with a new game or franchise.

I think it is more of a question of how many more copies would their games have sold if they were on two systems and not just one. Look at GofW that sold 2.1 million systems. Would RFofM hit that if on the 360 and PS3?

If they were to ever announce that they were going multi-platform, this place would go nuts.  Actually, that would be sweet.

Yes it would....I can't wait for the first day a Bungie game goes to the PS3 also

That would be even more insane, it would be even sweeter.  Bungie is tied to MS though but I would love to see it.

Hmm this is a sad thing that Insomniac games dont sell well enough on the PS3. If it is best for the company then they should do it. Insomniac doesnt get the credit they deserve at the moment, Resistance 2 competetive online is fantastic and deserves a lot more recognition. Great company they are a credit to games industry.

I can't imagine a RC game doing well on the 360 but Resistance is another story. Hopefully they have enough developers to produce games for multiple systems without delays.

Well hopefully they think it through because if they leave Sony and go multiplat with new IP's (which they have to do) and fail, I doubt Sony would just allow them to come back like nothing ever happened but who knows. From what I hear Sony treats their developers well also even though going multiplat could pay off.

Difference is SE is a 3rd Party company and Sony had no control over that just like they don't with FF Versus XIII. When you own a series it's different.

And? Insomniac has developed exclusively for Sony for what seems like forever. You think they don't get any benefits?

No they're not, but losing second party developers is never good, specially if we're talking about insomniac.

R&C would might sell well on a wii. Resistance might sell well on the 360. certainly it would make a dev curious.
