Insomniac to go Multi-plat. Thoughts?

I am under the assumption that a topic such as this one has already been made, but I am making this post upon a return to these forums after a 3-month hiatus, so I honestly wouldn't know. (Save for my laziness to search for one.)

So as IGN pointed out a few days ago, Insomniac may soon break their unofficial software bond with Sony and start making games for other consoles. This doesn't excite me that much, but the now-strengthened notion of being able to play a new Ratchet and Clank game (essentially the only franchise of Insomniac's I care about) without having to own a PS3 is quite a pleasant one.

How do you guys feel about it?

Rachet and Clank are owned by Sony, they just hired insomniac to make it. With this article i guess insomniac is going to make a new IP and Sony will hire someone else to do the Rachet and Clank series

Yep, Rachet and Clank is owned by Sony, so is Resistance.

Well if Sony wants them to but if they are busy making the new IP or doing something else they would have to get new developers just like they would have to with the resistence franchise. I highly doubt Sony would wait a let them finish the game and then make them work on that.

Give me a Ratchet and Clank like kind of game and I'll be happy. The 360 needs more platformers.

If multiplat means PC as well, roll it on.

It's possible. If it happens it will be a new IP I think. We'll see. First I hope they make Resistance 3 and clear up the issues of Resistance 2.TREAL_Since

I don't really care. I didn't like Resistance 1/2 very much and I only played RNC on the PS3 and that wasn't very fun either. So hopefully their new IP's are a bit more fun.

Well if insomniac is busy with another game I hope ready at dawn will make R&C they made dexter witch was

a lot of fun

I hope they make a new action adventure game. :)

I hope they make a new shooter thats actually something different than what is already on the market.

i think it would be a good think if Resistance went multiplat. I bet if it did, many 360 owners would love the game. it's really good. i think the more people who can experience a game, the better.

Well I like the Ratchet and Clank series but I dislike the Resistance series. So I'm not sure if I would like any new IPs they make for other systems.

Good for them, hopefully their new projects will get more recognition than their current and old ones.

I wouldn't mind if they went multiplat. Like I don't mind if bungie starts to release some games on the ps3.

But oh well. I'm sure something worthwhile will come out of this potential happening.

Good for them, hopefully their new projects will get more recognition than their current and old ones.

People have been speculating about Bungie going multiplat for years now as well.

I think they have opened a new studio, so they could start a new IP and continue on R&C and Resistance, if Sony is OK with that of course. Maybe they are afraid to go multiplat out of fear Sony might pull the plug on those franchises, which while exclusive, sell good.

Resistance, r&c. They are sony but the devs themselves are free to make whatever game they wish on whatever platform. Im happy for them that they're going multiplat. No use in talent going to waste.

They might as well just form up like Voltron and make a PlayBoxTendo, if that were the case.

It's just so bland, so homogenized and sterile as an idea.

Insomniac has squashed that rumor several times, and now that it's "resurfaced" again, they've squashed it once again. I think people need to give it up already.
