2015 has seen some very good games for example, Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, Dying Light, Arkham Knight, and later on in the year we shall see Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow Warrior 2, Halo 5, Fallout 4.
Witcher 3, Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void, Fallout 4, Blops 3, Taken King, Halo 5, Rise of Tomb Raider, Batman AK, Bloodborne
yeah this is one of the best like ppl will be like remember 2015 years from now.
You left out the best game of 2015..
Depending on your preference I'd bet
MGS5/Persona 5
I'm going to take a stab and say you were referring to MGSV
Of course its MGS5: Phantom Pain
:)
No, but imagine if the games that have been pushed back to 2016 hadn't... With Zelda U, NMS and FFXV, if they end up being amazing games, this year could have been a candidate for GoAT
Nonetheless it's a great year, and FFS I am so going to play The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne when I get a PS4. I might even play MGSV even though I've never played anything from that series before.
I give 2015 a 10/10 for games and announcements. Bloodborne, Arkham Knight, Mortal Kombat X, Witcher 3, Pillars of Eternity, OlliOlli 2, Ori and the Blind Forest, and more. Then there's FF7 remake announcement, Last Guardian, Shenmue 3, Horizon, and more. I'm also really looking forward to the holiday season - MGS V, Black Ops 3, Halo 5, Persona 5, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Fallout 4, XCOM 2, Stacraft Legacy of the Void. I mean, was there ever a year better than this?
Best year for announcement for sure but not games. Resident Evil 2R, Shenmooooooo 3 and FFVIIR assured that.
Only if you are a new gamer and haven't experienced 1998, 2004 and 2007 before. 2015 is not even as good as 2011. Let alone the ones I mentioned earlier. As mentioned above, best thing about 2015 were the announcements, not actual games. There are some great games coming out later this year but not enough to call it the best year. It's funny that back in 2014, we thought it'll be best year in ages but once again a lot of stuff was pushed back to 2016 and same will happen next year as well.
For me best year is 1998; Metal Gear Solid, Thief: The Dark Project, Half Life, Panzer Dragon Saga, System Shock 2, Starcraft etc etc etc. Masterpiece after masterpiece after masterpiece. So far nothing comes close to 2007 (when it comes to recent years of goodness); Witcher, Supreme Commander, Mass Effect, Halo, STALKER, Crysis, World in Conflict, The Orange Box etc etc etc.
I looked at the three years that you loved that 2007 year is the one that stands out the most but 1998 is the most magical year.
@AM-Gamer: well in 1998's defense you got Marvel vs Capcom which was the start of a great fighting game dynasty; StarCraft which would end up becoming a RTS game that everything wanted to be; Grand Tursimo would be a defining racing sim; Banjo Kazooie, a beloved platformer. The point is while the nostalgia glasses are on there are lots of valid reasons for said glasses. Good quality gaming there that still holds up to this day.
@360ru13r: It was an Absolutely amazing year no doubt. It's just so hard to meet expectations today and alot of games have done it. MKX, Bloodborne, TW3, MGSV . Batman: AK was considered disappointing here at GS but many still enjoyed it. I just think this year should definitely be in consideration. At least that's what my wallet tells me. I bought many games this year and really haven't been disappointed.
1998, 2004 and 2007 are better. 2016 will probably be better as well, best year of the gen imo.
MGSV and Bloodborne will go down as some of my favorite games of all time though, MGSV might even make my top 5 favorite games ever after I play it. Rocket League is also GOAT material.

+1 , however the best year for me was 2004
Not even close... not even close.
I would rather have a basket full of 7's-9's that interest me rather than a small handful of 10's sprinkled with dog shit.
look dude..... 2011 was by far the best recent.
Skyrim and obviously definitely without a doubt Dark Souls.
Witcher 3, Starcraft 2 Legacy of the Void, Fallout 4, Blops 3, Taken King, Halo 5, Rise of Tomb Raider, Batman AK, Bloodborne

Persona 5 is probably my most anticipated exclusive on any platform.
Well original IPs keeps the industry going, try to keep track of how many relevant franchises had their first game started in a certain year
For example, in 2007:
Mass Effect, Crysis, The Witcher, Bioshock, STALKER, Assassin's Creed, Portal, Supreme Commander, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, you can even make the argument for COD 4: Modern warfare (absolute game-changer).
2015 can hardly compare to that.

Not so sure bro.. UC1 was nice short little game. I enjoyed it.. but emmm comparing that to Fallout 4 or MGSV is lol. Assassins Creed was terrible game ehh.. I think MGSV is probably bigger than all those games combined. But if you wanna compare individually i say Witcher 3>Witcher 1 lol.
Easily with just the Witcher 3 and MGS5. I don't know what you people see in fallout but count that in that's 3 massive games.
@jsmoke03: A little bit. I mean, if you think about it, Witcher, Bloodborne, Monster Hunter, Splatoon, Rocket League, Metal gear, we already have some good shit, but it's not on the same level as other great years in the past is the problem.
Every new year people ask this question. For me, it's 1994. '95, '97, '98, '01, '02, '04, '10, and '11 were also very good.

fallout is set to release as well. tomb raider and halo 5 could be something as well. i think ppl are automatically writing this year off. as i said, i havent tried too many of this years game....but on paper, this looks like an awesome year, score wise. but i was seeing if p5 would hype this year up for you more since you made a thread about p5 not ever releasing lol
