Is 2017 one of the best years in gaming ever?

In January we were given Resident Evil 7, Yakuza 0, Gravitry Rush 2, and Dragon Quest 8 3ds. In February we got Nioh, Horizon, and For Honor. In March, the Switch came out, and so did Breath of the Wild, Nier, and Mass Effect. April gave us Bayonetta on PC (holy cow!), Persona 5, Dragon Quest Heroes II, Outlast 2, Dawn of War 3, and Mario Kart, and more. This month we get Prey (tomorrow), Injustice 2, Rime, Street Fighter 2 for Switch, and heck, Wii U is even getting a game.

Looking forward there is Tekken 7, Dirt 4, Arms, and Crash Trilogy next month. July brings us Splatoon 2 and FF12 remastered. August has Uncharted Lost Legacy and Yakuza Kiwami. Destiny 2, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, and Danganronpa 3 in September. October is a bit empty, but that could change easily. Then we have big guns in November (COD and Battlefront), and of course, Shenmue III in December. And of course, this is all before E3 announcements are made. I think we can easily put 2017 in one of the top 10 years of gaming, ever? What do you think, SW? Agree?

Hell yeah, Zelda Breath of the Wild is the best video game ever made.

Outside of Nintendo, honestly it's been kinda boring so far for me.

Horizon and Persona are the only things to release so far that I have any interest in, but I'm in no rush to grab either of them yet.

Holy shit. I must be living under a rock to not know that Bayonetta is out on PC. When was it announced? Seems like I was way too busy taking care of other stuff. Checking out NOW!!!

2016 was better. and very underrated

Both Doom and Hitman were best games of respected genre since long long time. and they alone made that year good.

Duh it's why @mjorh and @the_master_race are reppin platinum avis n sigs. Me pimping out Bayonetta's greatness can only do so much, eventually Sega's gotta actually port the games. We already got a tease for Vanquish PC port as well, will probably be this year too.

Well if Bayonetta is on PC then you can bet your ass that Vanquish is going to come out soon as well.

Indeed! In January we were given Resident Evil 7, Rise & Shine, Pit People, and Tales of Beseria on PC. In February we got Halo Wars 2, For Honor, Sniper Elite 4 and Eternal Return. In March we got Nintendo Switch with Zelda baby! Can't wait to play that one. Also the hugely popular Ghost Recon as well as Mass Effect and Thimbleweed Park. April gave us Outlast 2, Bayonetta for Microsoft Windows, Mario Kart 8, Cities Skylines, War Hammer 40,000 and more. May is giving us Minecraft for Switch, Prey, Injustice 2, Endless Space 2, Rime and a bunch more.

For the rest of the year, we are pumped about Destiny 2, Call of Duty WWII, Shenmue III on Windows PC, Forza Motorsport 7, Marvel vs. Campcom Infinite, Ashen, Crackdown 3, Tacoma, Below, Sea of Thieves, Phantom Dust HD, Tekken 7, Dirt 4, Rising Storm 2, Battlefront 2, Project Cars 2 and Red Dead!. And then of course, the release of the most powerful console in the world, Project Scorpio.

2017 is indeed shaping up to be the best year in gaming no doubt.

And it's pretty much confirmed that Vanquish will be released on PC, only a matter of time.

Yes, 2007 is right up there, if not the tippy top, one of the finest year's of gaming. The AAA hits just kept on coming. Well, for PC/360, the others, eh, not so much. :P

Edit: Misread that. I dunno, 2017 IMO doesn't come close to 2007.

Thus far it is looking that way.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Spiderman will seal it for me.

It started pretty good and so far continues the trend of X7 years to be great for gamers.

Stormblood expansion is coming out for FF14 to, they're dropping PS3 and rebuilding the game for PS4 :)

1998 is still better.

So far I have to say yes, don't think I've seen such a great start to a year than 2017.

If Red Dead Redemption 2 and a Shenmue HD Collection is announced and released this year before Shenmue 3's release on top of everything else, then definitely. I'm waiting on E3 to see what's coming in the last half of the year but this year is definitely a contender for best year as is.

Yup, I may have to refigure since really, the year isn't even half over yet and if all those make it plus some like Sea of Thieves, State of Decay2, which I think just could be the biggest sleep hit of the year, plus some others as well, 2017 just may take the crown. :D

Yeah, without a doubt 2017 has been one of the best gaming years ever, and it's only been 4 months too. I can't think of another year where there's been literally something new to play every other week.
