For starters the graphics is umm how can i say it kindly , very ugly. 2 the game play doesnt look to be better then halo 3. so why pay 60 bucks for a game that looks like its 4 years old?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
the gameplay looks fine and its a new game, well have to see if its worth the money though cause im not sure how much they are really adding, but the one thing i didnt understand i saw some of the ingame cutscenes and your right its really really ugly, like im surpised bungie with all the money they have cant do anything about that but i mean its not outdated
Just remember, when Halo ODST acheives yet another trifecta (High Score, High Sales and Continued Replayability,) cows will start the 'be bu bu teh over rated' mantra again. Want to bet this game outsells all of Sony's supposed high quality library this year?
All it took was one look at who the TC was to tell me there wasn't going to be any real substance behind this so called "reasoning".I came here expecting reaoning, all I got was........................................what did I get? :| What exactly about ODST makes it outdated again?

Hey well, with how fast users are getting ban now its hard to keep up :P Seriously though, I wonder how people can honestly think the next Halo game is outdated? Maybe not graphical masterpieces or anything but outdated?
i dont get it FPS are still copying the things Halo 3 did yet its outdated? Halo 3 ODST will bea great game, and looks like the Single player is going back to its roots, and is going to be alot more in depth. A new MP mode which i concede is a variation of horde mode looks like it will be fun, and fully believe Bungie will make sure to make it as unique as possible. Why are fanboys so blind, and delusional? wait dont answer that.
A beta is not a legitimate reason to buy a game.... Betas are for free....they are legitimate pre-order bonuses and legitimate select downloads to applicants, but this idea that a piece of software is worth more because it includes a beta is....wow. Only on Xbox.Avian005
- Only fanboys care about graphics.
- The graphics aren't ugly, its a great looking game. I just doesn't look amazing like most game do now.
- The gameplay has never been bad in Halo, and Bunge changed a few things to balance it well.
- The game comes with all of the Halo 3 maps (downloadable only I think).
- It has Firefight, a survival mode for the Halo series.
- It comes with Halo: Reach Beta.
- The game itself is not an expansion anymore. In the last year, Bungie has added much more thing to the game where it is longer and is able to stand alone from the rest of the series.
- I don't see how its outdated.

Hey well, with how fast users are getting ban now its hard to keep up :P Seriously though, I wonder how people can honestly think the next Halo game is outdated? Maybe not graphical masterpieces or anything but outdated?
People on SW are too caught up on graphics. Because Halo: ODST's visuals aren't a huge upgrade from Halo 3 (despite the fact that they still look quite good), people automatically assume that the game is going to be outdated. Flawed reasoning? Very much so. Unfortunately, I've yet to see that stop many folks around here from using it.A beta is not a legitimate reason to buy a game.... Betas are for free....they are legitimate pre-order bonuses and legitimate select downloads to applicants, but this idea that a piece of software is worth more because it includes a beta is....wow. So the costs for getting a beta key are subtly increasing? That was the purpose of the "Only on Xbox" comment. Let me put it this way, you can be happy about purchasing your game and getting your beta key if you want one, but don't make it a point of contention when arguing the value of the game's purchase price. That kind of thing makes people look like a major sucker to me.[QUOTE="Brownesque"][QUOTE="Avian005"]

Yup, $60 for a future AAA game is hella much! New 5-6 hour single player campaign unique to the Halo games, co-op horde-like mode, all the Halo 3 maps, and more. If $60 is a lot for this, then you shouldn't be into this hobby to begin with, no offense. It's not a cheap hobby.

Wrong.
Players were given access to the inFAMOUS demo when they pre-ordered the game. The Uncharted 2 beta key is included with copies of the game.

I must say that overall ODST looks WAY more appealing to me then Halo 3, Im a sucker for Urban warfare :3 even if it is nothing gameplay changing.
I am a bit nervous about the "flashjumping" between characters in the game, I doubt I will like that part, but a more or less FreeRoaming Halo game, that is darker more moody and (seems to me) more thought out? Ill bite, and I really diddnt like Halo 2 or 3...

Has a beta key for the next Halo game. **** all you want about it not being free, and nobody will actually care.
And to top it all off it will score AAA.

Nobody plays Halo for its graphics.
And as for the question, ODST is a full game, not an expansion as many say it is.

The multiplayer is entirely Halo 3 and nothing else after that its a campaign mode and fire fight. Time will tell how long the campaign will be, but all signs point to the game basically being an expansion still. It is still "Halo 3: ODST" it is still designed to expand the Halo 3 experience a bit more. Sure they have said that there have been some design changes as more time has passed, but i think alot of that is just PR BS to cover there own ass. So i still say the game being a 60 dollar expansion still ticks me off.....even if it does look like.......fun P.S. If you try to fix gramatical errors so help me :P[QUOTE="Brownesque"] A console is a failure if it forces people to pay for content that should be free.subrosianIf people are willing to pay money for something, then that something has value to them.
