is alan wake AAA material?

the game doesnt seem very interesting to me the story sounds good from the sounds of it (but i doubt it will be cuz good storys that stand up till the end are just rare in videogames) but the gameplay just turns me off, seems like the kind of game that will drag on due to hurt gameplay. i dont get why all the hype about this game.

anyone else feeling the same way?

It could be, since it's made by the Max Payne devs, and both Max Payne games were AAA on PC. If it's like them but better, then yes.

I'm just ticked it's not coming for PC. They even did a whole Core 2 Quad presentation for intel and then decided to ditch the PC platform. Now that it's limited to 360 hardware, I'm not excited about the game, it won't be as good as it could have been.TheDuffman26

its the same guys that did max payne so yea the story should be great

Can anyone tell me if the PS2 version of Max PAyne is crap? Because Ive been playing it and it is absolute garbage, the story is fairly interesting but everything else sucks. (IMO)

Not a clue. This and Heavy Rain will probably get AA and still be better than the overrated AAA tripe of 2010.

Yes why wouldn't it be? Got the graphics, the story, the setting/mood looks likea great thriller game.

killzone 2 got ragged on for taking 4 years to make circa 2005 trailer then feb 2009 release, killzone 2 delivered AAA all the way, alan wake has taken 5 years so the expectations are high and maybe too high.............??

Yeah I think it is, graphics and gameplay look really good and the story also seems interesting.
