No shit. Read the whole thread man, as of now you are having a completely different conversation than the rest of us.

No shit sherlock...

"Is anybody worried how well the internet will perform on PS4? I'm pretty sure I want one for the value factor, but owning both systems last gen showed me that the 360 did much better handling everything online. I'd just hate to get my PS4 and experienced bogged down servers and extremely slow downloads. (Moses beard grows)"

He's talking about the download speed of the system in which the PSN has nothing to do with.  Your download speed can only be determined on how much you're getting from your ISP.

You are still not getting it. You have three choices here, choose wisely.

A. Back out of the thread and hope it goes away.

B. Admit you jumped to a conclusion before reading the thread.

C. Keep trying to argue and look even stupider than you already do.

I guess reading more than the title is too much for people to ask these days. TC was clearly referring to PSN, not the internet as a whole.

What a stupid statement.  I have 150 mb service and dl at like 4mb on ps3.  Sometimes slower.  Let me call verizon lol and complain

Don't use wireless, open your router ports and configure any security settings on or firewalls on it. Can't stand people crying about this stuff when they do literally nothing on their end and just blame their ISP or Sony.

please buddy, this is what i do, the problem is on PSN server side, I hardwired directly opened all ports, DMZ the god darn IP, and my speed still sucks. I investigated further only to find a ton of other people who have done the same as me complain about the very thing. Now i have an 80gb phat and this is a KNOWN problem with this model. still not fixed, so please stop trying... and ill post my speed for monsieurx after this post....

I'm not because the PS3 only had 256MB of RAM and RAM is crucial for downloading and communicating with download servers through I/O network transmissions - not to mention the PS3 was using a decent chunk of that RAM just to run it's OS/XMB.

The PS4 has 8GB of RAM and a couple of those GBs are dedicated to the system's OS operations, which would include network I/O transmissions and operations - I'm not concerned. It should be lightyears better this coming GEN.

Very.

It was very frustrating downloading a game on PSN to have it take 4 hours, then another hour to install. What would have been completed in an hour on my Xbox takes 5 times longer on the PS3, zero change when I went wired with my PS3 either.

the slow downloads and installs, coupled with a slow UI are the 2 only things bothering me, and holding me back from loving the PS4

-Snooze-
Try changing your MTU to 1492 and see if that helps.

Should be 300 in a few weeks, although now im being told i cant have my employee discount with that speed. 300 is coming tho soon, as the tiers on Quantum will still increase. here you go, and I use the FiOS server because that is the most accurate test according to tier 2. Speedtest.net my upload is around 50, with the download about the same.deal

he is right in some way, although they did supposedly fix some of this when they did the slims. The speeds on the slims are better, but still alot of people do complain even then. PSN is far less evolved than XBL, i mean it was hacked and had an outage of 24 days. That is horrible and a joke. They have gotten better, but comparing the two is laughable. XBL has put a ton more money into the infrastructure. Not Even Close.

lol dont hate, im pissed that i wont be getting 300mb with the discount, but now of course its not avail to employees. Verizon currently now offers up to 500mb, these speeds will keep going up and up. So depending on where you are, your speed will most likely be upped in the next coming years. 100mb will be nothing in the next couple of years.

The "experience" of xbox LIVE comes from software inside the OS like x-game chat. It has nothing to do with Microsoft's servers or "investment".

The Xbone is a half-baked console. It was supposed to be released next year. By announcing the PS4, SONY forced Microsoft's hand. I expect the Xbox LIVE experience on the Xbox ONE to be substandard. Shensolidus confirmed the majority of the features on the Xbone are crap and don't work as intended. The ones that do work are inferior to the PS4 (5 min vid capture on the Xbone vs. 15 min vid capture on the PS4).

lol shen the cow? ok we shall see. No one but a select few have even seen the UI. This is what Microsoft does, when it hits the streets it will be fine, and it will continue to get better and better. The upload studio is going to be awesome. please just stop dude, it takes me 5 hours to download 2 gigs on my freaking PS3. It takes me about 25 minutes to do that on XBL. Trust me im about speed brother, and its not even close. I will own a PS4, but id be stupid to pay for that service PSN plus. Unless i want free ps3 rentals. They need to do that because the service is that INFERIOR brah. get some games for launch, i have about 4 i have to buy for myself and I dont even wanna spend money on me, they are just that good.

It doesn't really matter how fast is your internet connection! What really matters is how much of your internet bandwidth the console can utilize. The best way to know this is using thirdparty speed tests and speedof.me is the best in this category.

I'm not worried, I've a feeling developers will somehow try to sneak use of MS's dedicated servers without them knowing for PS4 support and go years before it's discovered, then whereafter Sony will realize the benefit of doing so and set up their own dedicated servers.

If you are getting slow downloads on the PS3, you are doing something wrong. 9 times out of 10, people are connecting through its shitty WIFI. I mean I downloaded all 27GB of TLOU in an hour and a half. According to the fanboy Lem mentality, it should have took me days to get.

don't bump dead threads just to reiterate information that's already been discussed, before the thread died, over a month ago.
