The alpha was fun. I did enjoy it, but it did have flaws (ones that existed not only because it was an alpha).
Pros:
-The game ran very smooth for an alpha and looked very good, again, for an alpha.
-The weapons handled well. The ability to switch between firing modes is a great returning feature. Also, the ACOG scope on the M16 was very nice.
-The sound design, as with other BF games, is top notch.
-The way you pick up weapons is different than arming/disarming M-Coms so no more kit switching on accident.
Cons:
-There was no way to change graphics settings (not even the resolution).
-No way to change the controls (not even mouse sensativity).
-The LAV (the APC) drives very, very fast. It seemed like it had a 0-60 of 5 seconds which is crazy for such a large and heavy vehicle.
-The damage was a little too close to CoD style. There were times that I was killed in around half a second from being shot in the body 100 yards away with a sub-machine gun. That just isn't anywhere near previous BF games.
-There could have been more recoil and bullet spread. Even when shooting full auto, I was pretty accurate. I liked how you had to burst fire in BFBC2 almost all the time.
-A few issues with grafical artifacts but I am possitive this is just due to it being an alpha.
-The map for the alpha was my biggest issue. The first three sets of M-Coms had almost no destruction or verticle combat (buildings with more than one floor). Though the biggest problem with that map was that the first set of M-Coms was almost impossible to get past. Attackers had very little cover not only in trying to reach the furthest M-Com (under the gazeebo) but also in trying to keep it covered after arming. I really hope that smoke grenades make a return or else Rush mode is going to die out really quick. On that not, M-Coms arm and explode way too fast. If the first and second person to make it there die, then that M-Com is gone.
I am sure none of this violates the thingy since I don't really get that specific, but if so, I am sorry.

Most if not all of that was wil be changed. And the map is desinged for 24 players - you should try it with around 20 people, it's much more enjoyable. All your complaints should be fixed with the retail version. (:Well you die faster than in older BF games, but that was mostly a problem when playing with 31 other people in the Metro map which was clearly suited for around 20 people. People also did make a petition (I believe) so I'm sure DICE have seen the complaints and *might* deside to "fix" it. If not I'm sure people will adjust and enjoy.ibeen hearing it's close to BC2 and the health was kind of a problem

I think its likely that it will be even more if a problem in the larger maps. There is really not a whole lot of skill to the shooting due to the lack of recoil and miniscule health. I thought BC2 had it perfect with the shooting. You had to control your shots when firing at a distance and could let loose at closer ranges.
The level they released (the one in like a city park) was pretty awful. Sniper Heaven. Disappoint. Did they ever release more? I stopped playing after a couple days.

This. The sound and the gunplay were excellent, but the map is beyond awfull, totally broken towards the defending team, bad enogh to convince me to not play a Rush match in BF 3 EVER (an I'm mainly a Rush player in BC 2).
Honestly, the BC 2 beta maps were a lot better, both Arica Harbor and Puerto Valdez wipe the floor with Paris Metro. Jiust stay away from any game mode in BF 3 outside Conquest and Team Deathmatch.
