If it wasn't for Nintendo, we wouldn't have this amazing game. And that is something I definitely give them credit for. Other than that, we seem to have gotten the run of the mill stuff from Nintendo. Is there anything else they have done? I mean, the whole tablet thing flopped.

That "run of the mill stuff" has been some of the highest scoring shit of the generation.

On Metacritic no less.

I couldn't care less about Bayonetta, so the Wii U doesn't even have that going for it in my eyes.

Just this year Nintendo gave us Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, Splatoon, Super Mario Maker, Yoshi Woolly World, i actually feel Wii U got more love then 3DS this year, but thats just me.

We also got Fatal Frame which would have a higher rating if people werent voting it zero for censorship. Just look at its Metacritic, its disgusting and hurts.

WiiU is the only system worth owning. It is the other side that is run of the mill. In fact the ps3 and xbox360 were and still are better consoles than the ps4/x1. PS4/x1 are the most stripped down, casual centric consoles ever released.

Super Mario Bros Luigi Wang Mario Maker seem more interesting than a lot of the other stuff from other consoles this gen.

Worst "AAA+" game on the system imo ... cringeworthy crap.

What has Sony put out that isn't run of the mill? yet another dark souls game?

Every time I consider playing a Wii U, I just remind myself that there are better versions of basically all its games on the SNES/Gamecube.

You're right about Bayonetta, though. I don't like Platinum games, but a shitload of people do.

I have only played and finished the demo, but i actually enjoyed it and i dont like story games much. It does a good job of telling its story in different ways to not bore you, kinda like the old Resident Evils did, you get cut scenes, letters, etc. The combat gets immersive once you get use to using the camera and moving, its also has nice replay ability, you try to score higher points by taking pictures of ghost with the Gamepad that appear and disappear quickly and by fighting others of course. Also had really good boss fights that were actually not very easy, but not super hard either.

After the demo, i found the game to be a good/great game and i have plans to buy it soon. Its not like majority of horror games out there, they dont rely on cheap scares or anything, just immersive environments and a cool yet dark story. I played Fatal Frame 4 and i found this one to be better then it. Its not open world, but it feels that way with how they set it up, i got lost in the woods and couldnt find my way out, i had to do this trace thing where you follow ghost traces to make my way through.

I really recommend people play the demo, its gives you a very accurate summary of what the game has to offer.

Honestly, Bayonetta 2 is only significant to an extreme minority. Wii U's relevance is in games like Super Smash Bros for Wii U, Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World. Games enjoyed in mass by Nintendo fans as opposed to a niche series enjoyed by a select few.

@mesome713: Good, yeah. Big fan myself of the game making it immersive by having you walk through creepy environments, rather than relying on jump scares. That, I find boring.

Yeah, quite enjoying it myself.

Funny you say that, cause Bayonetta reminds me of cool action cartoons i use to watch on Saturday mornings. Without all the curse words and sexy time of course. Just pure fun action.

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.” - C. S. Lewis

Umm, not really, There's nobody around when I'm playing so who would I be trying to impress? Nintendo's games just don't do it for me. It's not just that the themes are ALWAYS incredibly cutesy (Seriously, mix it up a little!), I can deal with that once in a while. But the gameplay is not as OMG as y'all make out.

The fact you have to posture yourself as better than others for liking kiddie things suggests quite heavily that you do in fact feel insecure about your maturity.

It's the only great game that system has, yeah. There is good stuff, but Nintendo's offerings have been a lot of more of the same and Splatoon. My favorite stuff on that system has been Platinum's games, though Affordable Space Adventures is neato. The thing is I'll take the WiiU's vanilla exclusives over the gutter trash that I've been given on PS4 and Xbox One besides Bloodborne and Halo 5.

I love the "well you're not really mature if you don't play stuff that appeals to kids"...as if gaming is the only medium, where demographics are not a thing.

Sure, that argument is dumb, but the paintbrush argument that all Nintendo games are for kids is also as dumb. Are Nintendo games kid friendly? Sure, they are (and that's a good thing, by the way, I would say that having a video game that I can safely give a kid without having to worry about age appropriate content is a great thing). But are Nintendo's games just for kids? No they are not, and that argument might be the most asinine one around.

That's not what I've been saying. I've been saying that thinking one as superior to others BECAUSE they play things that appeal to kids is the issue.

One need not play a kiddie game to be mature. But trying to sell yourself as mature BECAUSE you avoid playing kiddie things is in itself quite, and I paraphrase a bit from Lewis here, adolescent.

How anyone can have a WiiU and not try any of the other worth while games on it like Smash, DK Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors, or Mario Maker or The Wonderful 101 is beyond me.

It's the best game on Wii U, (and by extension the best game of this generation thus far) but obviously the answer is no.

What's funny though is that the same people claiming Nintendo's games are creatively bankrupt are eating up every demon's souls sequel that comes out.

I feel the games Nintendo has released on Wii U have been some of their strongest games in a while. They have slowed down recently, but they had a strong run of what remains the strongest games in this generation. IMHO of course.

At least Wii U has backward compatibility lol. But really, Splatoon looks like a lot of fun to pick up and play and you've got Super Mario Maker which isn't your typical run of the mill Mario game. Xenoblade Chronicles X is coming, and that Pokemon fighting game from the Tekken creators if you like those guys. There's some indie stuff too and those are always worth a look.

So once the new Nintendo console comes out do you guys think there will be a chance that Platinum could port the game over to the XB1/PS4. Because the way I see it Nintendo probably won't care about the game by then. If not then Platinum could add an extra level to the game and call it Bayonetta 2.5 to get past the exclusivity deal. Anyway it's the only game I'm interested in on the Wii U, but I don't want to buy a Wii U for just 1 game.
