Is Death Stranding PS4 exclusive now?

Kojima is a wild card as far as what he makes, it can be fantastic or just baffling, and so far everything about this game just puzzles me. But one thing I think you can count on is he'll favor Sony over all others if given the chance, and his name no doubt carries weight for gamers who game on Sony consoles too so I imagine Sony is working out exclusivity arrangements with Kojima over Death Stranding. They're probably bankrolling it so it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they nail down exclusivity.

Doubtful. Anybody who's kept up with Kojima at all knows that the PC is his favorite platform and the one he'd always like to target if he can. That's his roots and he's not fond of being overly limited. Aside from that, he didn't go and establish his own studio with plans of being a slave to yet another company. It's his IP and I'm sure a lot of the deal was done on his terms. It's not like he was out there begging for funding, Sony was just one of many companies that approached him.

Though there is the reality that Sony is paying the bills on this one, so it could go either way given the right incentives.

I would expect a timed exclusive on PS4 though, with a PC version following up 3 to 6 months later.

But yeah, let's not get carried away. MGSV was originally announced as coming to PC. Then it vanished for a while and people assumed it wasn't happening. And of course it did in the end, and ended up being the best version by a significant margin.

I'm sure Sony wants all buzz surrounding this game to be PS4 related, so I'd expect to look this way from now until launch.

I don't know much about this stuff but Decima was specifically made for the PS4 by Guerrilla. If Death Stranding is gonna be multiplat, will they'll be able to easily modify the engine for a multiplat environment? Because considering how gorgeous Horizon looks on shitty hardware, I can only imagine what Kojima and his team would be able to achieve with it on PC.

PC and Xflop begging for PS4 ports like always. Just buy the PS4, you guys do not actually have to settle for crappy games.

Already have a PS4, been playing the fvck out of Nioh these past couple of weeks. Best game to come out in a while.

But it's not exactly begging when the game was announced on PC day 1 and (more than likely) is still on the way. I just want the game on PC because I'd rather play it to its fullest potential, not out of some spite for the PS4.

Sony is the publisher. They're funding the game and may even own the IP. Why should they publish games for competing platforms?

The only game that would be comparable to the TR situation is SFV. This is not the same kind of deal whatsoever.

Death Stranding is a game that will probably never be on my list. I've watched 3 trailers for it and still don't know what the hell it's about. Sure, graphics are great but graphics are great in most games now a days.

PS4 exclusive. Masterpieces only come to PlayStation in the end. Sony arent stupid to pay all this money if it was coming to PC eventually. Sony know that exclusives are the most important thing and thats why they are successful.
