Is E3 that big a deal anymore?

E3 gets huge when some one announces a new console (or getting FFX3) but does anyone else that that TGS and Liepzig offer more in terms of actual game stuff. Maybe its just me but E3 seems to be the place for the big announcements but the other 2 seem to be the place where all the stuff is shown. It's like the companies at E3 go for stuff like WSJ and so forth whereas the other 2 seem far more geared to the hardcore (or as we are known the cash cows :)).

Any thoughts?

I think we should wait for the rest of E3.

Thats why the exodus of companies at E3 continues, expect more companies to pull out as they realise the show is more about showing off sales than its about showing off games.

I was pretty underwhelmed in general. I think it's time we started think of E3 as DICEs slightly cooler brother and E for All as what could be the next big deal.

I agree with you the conference does seem more about putting up numbers than games. I guess I wasn't wrong then.

Apparently not, from what I heard the Capcom conference didn't even show any games. They just spent the whole confrence talking about the Lost Planet movie. If a developer as important as Capcom comes to E3 and doesn't show any games during their confrence then I think it's safe to say it's not that big a deal anymore.

Any thoughts?

Well, the show isn't over...

You are like my brother who pauses a movie at the beginning and asks me "What do you think!!!!?"

"I don't know, It's not over."
