Is God of War 3 Remastered a system seller?

Many people have said it was the best game of last generation, insane graphics, insane story, insane protagnist, insane gameplay, this is how you build a last generation game.

Many 360 owners didn't play it, but saw it at friends house or whatever and thought it looked amazing.

PC owners didn't play it but heard about it.

is this a system seller, i know im getting day 1 and beating it day 1, its one of those games i didn't play and want to see in the best quality ever made on ps4.

I want the enhancements that ps4 brings to the game and sony doing me a solid by only charging me 40 at launch instead of 60 tbh i wish other devs were as generous and not overcharge 60 for a remaster

40 just seems like the sweet spot im in im sold let me pre-order that game at 40 and ill beat it.

PC/360 owners haven't played it is it time to jump in for this game if you didn't have a ps3?

360 gamers who went to PS4? Maaaybe!

I bought God of War III and sold it along with my PS3 before I even completed it; it was lame, in my opinion. So, no, I wouldn't say that it's a system seller.

Stop pretending that real gamers choose sides, and didn't own all three systems last gen.

@ProtossX: I like where your thought process is going with this topic, and Sony is making it so obvious what they are doing.

The PS4 is trying to appeal to the market they lost last gen: PC owners, Wii Owners, 360 owners, non-gamers. Everyone. They are releasing their qualtiy exclusives again this gen because they have the marketshare- they're hoping to bank off of millions of people who never got to play Uncharted, God of War, Last of Us etc the first go-around.

No doubt, God of War 4 (most likely announced this year at E3) will pick up right where God of War 3 leaves off. Sony will increase sales of GoW 4 by re-releasing God of War 3 to get new people familiarized with the world, characters, and story.

and now there's rumors of an Uncharted trilogy leak..no doubt this will help increase U4 sales as well. More people will be willing to buy U4 if they get the chance to play 1-3 first.

Seriously, watch this Ratchet & Clank reboot sell financially well, and suddenly we will be getting Ratchet & Clank: PS2 Classic Trilogy Remastered and Ratchet & Clank: Future Trilogy Remastered

If the game were to come out by itself no, I don't think it'd be a system seller or a seller among PS4 gamers period as I don't see how they couldn't bundle it with Ascension at the very least. Even then I don't think it'd sell that well but it'd at least be more enticing to me as I never got to play Ascension. Also, price would play in considerably, $60 hell no, $40 launch price only if it included Ascension and even then I'd wait for a price drop, $20 digital download... not that I would get it as I didn't like God of War 3 all that much but it would certainly seem more fair.

I love these games but most Hardcore GoW fans have already played this.

I played god of war 3... I cannot think of a game I want remastered less than God of War 3.

Microsoft pushed a crapload of people away the Xbox brand after that whole DRM debacle, me included. I ended up getting an Xbox One because it was >$250 w/coupons and promotions.

Umm I played this on ps3. And though it is a 9/10 I don't think I'd even care to see it redone. It made sense with the last of us but this is just going to far. New IP that is on par with the quality of the last of us or I'm not interested one single bit. It's odd to see such a large industry shy away from anything with slight risk. The only good thing I see coming out of all these remasters on the new pc like console might be a hell of a lot easier to emulate on my pc then the ps3 in the near future.

I enjoyed GoW3 but I don't see this remaster being a system seller. There aren't many system sellers in general these days. A better question might be are people willing to double dip for this remaster.

People make jokes at other systems like Vita/Wii U and then make a thread like this completely serious? God of War 3 had some amazing set pieces (the intro fight with Poseidon being the highlight), but its the worst in the series. Not to mention the PS3 has this with 4 other God of War games for less then $20. The only system sellers the PS4 has at this very moment is Infamous and Bloodborne imo.

I don't think it is. Why would a remaster from a not THAT great game be a system seller when there are better games for that purpose ?

God of War 3 was one of my top 5 games from all of last generation so it's absolutely a system seller for a system I already own.

It was maybe for the ps3, but it won't be for the ps4. Honestly GoW 3 was dissapointing. Ascension is a much, much and much better game and GoW 2 is still the best one.

Well yes and no to God of War 3. God of War 3 on last-gen wasn't that impressive then it was for God of War 2 which stills remains the best GoW game yet but the problem is, GoW3 remastered is a letdown cause this is just part 3, not a trilogy Remastered set and especially to the Xbox 360 players who went PS4 will never get to experience God of War 1/2 and just play God of War 3 which doesn't make this a system seller.

Uncharted Trilogy, Last of Us or Metal Gear Solid 4 were system sellers, not too sure about God of War...

The story is shit, the protagonist is so badly written and characterized to the point he has no redeeming quality or anything interesting to offer, and the gameplay was a shallow spectacle parading itself around as a quality action game. Game was barely above average, much less a system seller.

No. If it was the God of War Saga like on the PS3 then sure. Former 360 owners would purchase it just to play through the complete series (yes, complete series because Ascension sucked and isn't worth talking about, aside from this run-on sentence).

Just one remaster by itself though? Nah. I'm sure there will be people that will pick it up because they're interested but I doubt it's going to sell well. There's going to be a crap ton of people complaining (rightfully so) that they won't play it because they never played the originals.
