My god did K3 blow. First time ever I returned a game to the store the next day and felt good even though I lost money. What a piece of steamy hot shit!
What is it about KZ3 that blows? I've played and finished it. Although I have some gripes about its linearity (compared to Crysis) and rail sequences (common to the majority of FPS games) plus, the blabbermouth Rico ;), it's far from being a bad game.
Not really, I'd say the general perception of GG is about right. They've been respected for their tech since the PS2 days.
Probably a little on the over-rated side. Killzone 2 was hyped to hell and back and was okay (I enjoyed the MP at least). I can't even remember KZ3 or SF even though I bought them. Horizon is a step in the right direction, but again, the hype is quite strong. I'm just glad their decision to pull away from the Killzone franchise resulted in a quality game. Hopefully that gives them more freedom to take more chances in the future.
Killzone 2 was great, but not better than any Halo from Bungie, not even close.

I don't think they're underrated. Their games so far deserved their scores, shadowfall was shallow and kz3 was definitely a step down from kz2. I never played HZD, I think they're more overrated, when you compare them to the Insomniac FPS on ps3, which were better imo
Are they rated? I enjoyed the Killzone games from the PS3..... I think I played the first one and maybe the third.
Didn't really pay attention to who made it back then and the release of Horizon is really the first time I'm hearing about Guerrilla Games.
Sony has never had the most prominent first party - When I think of Sony, I think of the exclusive deals with third-party devs.

Uncharted 2 & 4 were really good.

I always think of Uncharted as the death of Naughty Dog. A lot of people seem to enjoy those games. I played 1 and 2 and thought they were quite boring. I wish ND would go back to the fun 3D platforming games like Jak & Daxter.
Id say they are overrated. Consistent quality and variety are the two crucial metrics fora dev and they meet neither. Horizon doesnt change that.
Nah, I think they get due respect. They are a very solid studio, borderline top tier.
KZ2 and KZ3 were respected games, only deranged Xbox fans tried to talk them down (and I realize that some kz2 fans werent' happy about how they dumbed down and call-of-dutyfied the online of 3, but technically it destroyed kz2).
KZ shadowfall was a bit of a mess and cast some doubt on whether they were an elite studio, but Horizon has (apparantly) put them back on track and proved they can broaden out to a new genre.

Eh, Killzone didn't achieve a Halo CE type classic. If you talk about the entire history of Bungie games across all gens, then obviously the nod goes to the Bungie games. But that is mostly due to the original Xbox.
But in terms of PS3 vs 360, I think KZ was pretty damned competitive if not superior in most technical ways despite Halo 3 obviously being a huge system seller. I actually think Halo 3 was a rather terrible game which simply lived off the hype from the previous gen. KZ2 was a far more ambitious and better game. KZ2 didn't quite have that polish, but then again going back and playing Halo 3 or ODST now it just seems horribly dated. I actually think Killzone holds up better today (if not for minor framerate issues on KZ2 it wouldnt' even be close IMO). I'd give KZ2 the edge, and also say that KZ3 was far better than Reach in almost every conceivable way.
