Is H3: Recon needed, seriously?

Why not just work on Halo 4?

I'm all for it, but seems like milkage, its unlike bungie to make these side stuff from an already released title. Not saying it will be bad, but the term RECON and HALO, seems forced and uncalled for.

Will this still be a FPS or something else anyways?

1) Already a huge thread on this; was this needed?

2) It's one of several projects going on at bungie. This one is being worked on by a "smal, agile team" and by the guys who've been working on Halo since day one.

3) It is an FPS.

4) How can you say a game is uncalled for? :? They're just extending Halo 3, which makes sense seeing as so many people bought it and still play it. I think it's a much better idea to do what bungie are doing, releasing a steady stream of new maps and new content for a game everyone owns, rather than going years with nothing at all while making a new game.

Dunno if it will be in first person (probably), but it will be different from any other Halo game.

It's just a side alone expansion focusing on the events after earth in Halo 2.

They have a small team developing this to keep fans satisfied and i think it focuses more on the single player experience than the other Halo games have.

Bungie is also developing other projects in there studio at the current time.

1- Its sort of a small and much earier project for Bungie. Its not one of there bigger projects(atleast I hope bigger)...

2- Its an expansion..not a 40 dollar demo.

3- Its adding to the Halo lore..

the Halo 3 MP still gets improvements, but now the Halo 3 SP people have something else to enjoy(since Halo 3s sp wasn't exactly Half Life 2 or Bioshock).

Nuh, i love halo...Halo Combat Evovled is still the best one, IMO.

i just hate when developers do these side stuff and expansions or whatever.

and bungie has already stated they qwanted to do something just for their fans

and obviously it clears a lot more questions that many had , plus its providing another perspective to the war between humans and covenants ...

those who are interested in halo lore will veery much be intereted in it and will most definitely will be looking forward to it

You have to back up an opinion with reason and common sense; otherwise i could tell you right now that Crysis is the worst looking game i've ever seen. If you read the weekly update on bnet, one of the most requested things is DLC for the campaign. That and new armour perms.

The simpe fact here is that they have a small team set aside working on this. I'd much rather have a new Halo 3 campaign than wait years for Halo 4 with nothing in between. Another quality Halo game, provided it's of the same standards as the others, is never going to be a bad thing, is it?

I always here people asking for more Halo games, and complaining that the story in Halo 3 was lacking. Put them both together and this is what you get, an expansion to the Halo 3 story.

this isn't a new game, it's more halo 3. and halo 3 already has the more gamescore for it than any other game. it's pure genius - bungie can easily give it the ype of a standalone game and at the same time it won't draw away from halo 3s matchmaking. and jeez who doesn't remember that halo 3 advert??

If they constitute as half life 3 then definately. Half Life 2 didn't end definitively, it needed sequels.

Though I do not think H3: Recon is necessary, it is certainly not a bad thing that it should be released. The halo universe is very thick, so any additional insight into such a universe is welcome.

I also like playing with the Snake, Kratos, etc. Sackboys in LBP. It is what it is. The bottom line, is that Halo is a successful franchise. I hope they'll be a Legos Halo too.
