1. Best hardware
2. Best overall library
3. Mods
4. Best Controls
Anyone agree?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
"Best" is pretty subjective.
Just like no one will be able to come up with a gameuniversally accepted as "best game ever", same thing happens with consoles.
1.Price-Not even close.
2.Hackers/cheaters/pirates
3.Confusing for people who havent learned about computers.
4.Constant upgrading.
Consoles are just so much easier for most fans, 300 dollars gives me a PS3, Blu Ray, Controller, and i hook it up into my big screen HD TV with surround sound.
I dont have to upgrade anything, i dont have to buy a controller, a vga cable, blu ray, etc etc.
And i prefer games like Infamous and Uncharted over Shogun, WoW, and Civilization.
Yea there are no pirates on consoles, no cheaters on consoles, no hacker either  Constant upgrading? No. Want to give it another shot?1.Price-Not even close.

Yeah, and how much did that HD TV with surround sound cost? Console fanboys grasping at straws never fail to include the price of PC gaming, but always neglect to mention the price of the screen they're playing their console games on...1.Price-Not even close.

In terms of overall games library, yes. Not a fan of the experience though.locopatho
It provides a better gaming experience then consoles to me, or your talking about things that may impede the gaming experience but not the actual experience itself?

Realistically you need to spend $1200+ for a nice TV. Technically you could get away with $400 or so, but that is a diminished experience.
On PC you can also spend more or less, but the high high end is ~$1000 (HPZR30W), and the typical cost is ~$300 for a nice monitor.
You mean like every second or every millisecond.

I have an SD TV and no surround sound (I find sound systems the equivalent of a fifth wheel on a car) will Sony give them for free to me if I buy a PS3?
I dont have to upgrade anything, i dont have to buy a controller, a vga cable, blu ray, etc etc. crimsonman1245
You dont have to walk into a store and buy 70 euro games? God.... You must be amazing...

Ok...now?
its an opinion at best, it has the best hardware though.

That PC is the best platform is not just a fact, it's an Empirical Law
"Empirical laws are typically conclusions based on repeated scientific experiments and simple observations, over many years, and which have become accepted universally within the gaming community."

My TV and surround sound is not an accesory of my gaming console, I would have it whether i had a console or not.
If i were to hook up my PC to my TV i would have to rearrange my room and buy the cable to connect them with, its not worth it for me.

Its cool, but for the sake of the debate - same cable for ps3/PC

Thats ~$800+

Made up numbers are fun. And I don't care about the average. We can take to average PC gamer to have the Sims and Farmville and nothing else. But we don't becasue we aren't dumb. Not for me it isn't. No matter how powerful they can make it I cannot stand playing with a keyboard and mouse. It feels so unatural and uncomfortable to me. I know people say it's more accurate though and I'm not going to disagree, it's just that I don't like it. I'll stick with consoles and keep my PC for games I can't play on my console. And graphics don't matter to me that much as long as the art style is good.

I've never seen a console go for 800 bucks.
Anyways, this is SW, and opinions can't be facts.
If we just soley on games? Yes it is, most highest rated games THIS GEN alone, best hardware too, controles are debatable as a preference thing.
