No, we don't include any display cost since they are THE SAME.[QUOTE="locopatho"][QUOTE="haberman13"]
Point is when talking console, since we also include monitor cost in PC, we should include average TV cost in a console purchase.
haberman13
That is what I have been arguing - they aren't the same.
Avg PC: 250
Avg Console: 800
wait what? how is the average console 800 bucks?
Well, I'm getting a job just so I can upgrade this old piece of crap for gaming. I'd have to say yes.
If you have the money yes. Why
Graphics, true 1080p, 60 fps
Mods
Cheaper games
Dedicated servers in 99.9 percent of online games
Mouse and keyboard
More games,
RTS

Simple answer: It ain't Detailed answer: It is only if you have no game shops in your area and your friend (Who happens to be a greedy pig) is selling one for $800 Also, any PC for $250 obviously isn't very good.[QUOTE="Doom_HellKnight"][QUOTE="crimsonman1245"]Yeah, and how much did that HD TV with surround sound cost? Console fanboys grasping at straws never fail to include the price of PC gaming, but always neglect to mention the price of the screen they're playing their console games on... A display solution is identical for console and PC. Either can use monitor or TV. No difference whatsoever, so eliminate that common cost from the argument. He labeled price as a negative, but then went on to include his big screen HDTV(which are a lot more expensive than good monitors) and his surround sound system.1.Price-Not even close.
2.Hackers/cheaters/pirates
3.Confusing for people who havent learned about computers.
4.Constant upgrading.
Consoles are just so much easier for most fans, 300 dollars gives me a PS3, Blu Ray, Controller, and i hook it up into my big screen HD TV with surround sound.
I dont have to upgrade anything, i dont have to buy a controller, a vga cable, blu ray, etc etc.
And i prefer games like Infamous and Uncharted over Shogun, WoW, and Civilization.

Yeah...since I got the 360 controller for windows i don´t have to configure a single thing, that´s a thing of the past. It´s just plug and play, exactly like a console.
Who cares about mods? Apparently many people do,and the only reason that console gamers like you say they don´t care is simply because consoles don´t have them.
It is impossible for anything to be "factually the best" because the term "best" is derived off the term "good", which is an inherently subjective (read: opinionated) quality.
You can certainly find far more debating points to argue that the PC is a superior gaming platform to everything else, but when you are talking about entertainment (like gaming) people's preferences aren't a "rational" part of their personality which you can somehow change by using the right trigger words. If they don't like something then they don't like it and your mouth and brain can't do anything about that.
I suppose if you were to remove all personal preferance from the equation and just look at the facts then I guess PC would be the best.

That is what all you say..I say different. Hook it up and play something from 2000 OR even from 05 and come back to report..Ive NEVER seen a controller plugNplay for old games..EVER..There are programs you can dl and use but they suck..SO I guess PC doesnt do EVERYTHING better..NOW plug said controller up to the console its made for and WALLA!!! 100% every time. PCs should try to use our console tools because it simply has trouble..sorry bud..OH and as for MODS..sure some can be cool others are a waste of time and MOST will have glitches to the point of not working right..I know..Ive seen some in action.
Objectively yes and there's no way to argue it. Most powerful, constantly updating, cheaper games, ability to use whatever controls you want, and a much bigger game library.
Now which one someone personally likes better based on convenience and what games they like can come down to opinion. Regardless it's objectively the best.
I think it is the best. Too bad I don't have one yet. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't keep on buying all these great deals on steam that I can't even play yet...yentlequibleDon't worry about it I did the exact same thing before I built mine. It was oh so nice to have all those games just waiting when I built it.
In an objective point of view yes the PC is the best. However subjectively other platforms can be chosen over it due to reasons such as ease of use having more weight than availability of mods.
You forgot 1) Best online 2) Best competitive community 3) Best worldwide leagues mostly on PC ( dreamhack , ESL , eswl and more ) . and with PC you can do 234252352341212425 more things than a console. period. PS : not to say that consoles a more PC alike each generation .. I wonder why since PC isnt good... Have a nice day1. Best hardware

At any given time the PC has the best hardware because immediately when consoles come out they are outdated by a year or two because of advances during dev time that are now available for PC. It's literally impossible for consoles to catch up with the PC. Every year it has the most AA and AAA games by far. You can say you don't care about mods but when mods exist that can turn a pretty good but buggy game like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. into one of the best games of the last decade... like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Complete 2009 Mod, people care about it. Best controls isn't arguable I don't have to configure all day, you can literally open a menu and assign actions to buttons on the gamepad, it takes about 2 minutes. Sure the consoles have it all built in, but so does the PC with mouse and keyboard. The benefit of the PC is that you also have the option to spend a minute or two setting up an alternate control option. Please Log In to post.
