I own both a PS3 and 360 and while i still think the 360 is currently the better console out of the big three i cant help but think that its just starting to feel a bit dated.. This happened the other day when I changed out my rechargeable batteries for the controller and realized that batteries will soon be a thing of the past i then looked at my 360 console and looked at that wireless adapter that i HAVE to have to gain wireless since it doesnt have built in Wifi.. Say what you will about the PS3 but the fact is that it is more "future proof" I know that term has been used to death but speaking as a PS3 and 360 owner I can vouch that yes while the 360 has the better game library, the PS3 is definatley a console for the future.

Once Ingame XMB hits with the PS3 that will be another feather in the cap so to speak by the way.

So if someone owns both consoles and has one bad thing to say about either game console that makes him either a cow or lemming?! Ok i think aside from MGS4 PS3 has a weak game line up and the 360 is starting to feel a bit outdated.. there What am I?!

I wouldn't really say so, you've only got to look at the PS2 to realise how long a console can last for.

I own both... The only game worth buying right now would be MGS4. All the others I just rented. The only thing to really look forward to buying in the future would be littlebigplanet.

I didnt mention anything whatsoever about the Cell or anything of that nature.. Im just simply stating the simple stuff.. Wired headsets, network adapters with no built in wifi, only standard DVD drive and batteries are just making the 360 feel a bit dated is all.. Does the 360 still have the strongest game library out of any other console?! Absolutly, but im just simply stating that the PS3 is overall a lot more convenient.. Blu ray, built in WIFI, Recharable controller, bluetooth compatible for wireless headsets and so on

Blu-ray is not needed.

I completely agree on the WiFi part.

Batterys are much better than 1 built in battery with a 12 inch recharging coard. I can just take my rechargables out and pop some new ones in.

The PS3 does not include a headset of any form. For the 360 it's a standard. This is a big difference from my online play eperince with both systems.

You can use the same kind of battery that's built in the PS3's controllers, but you can remove them on the 360 controller. So when the battery dies, the controller doesn't go with it. You can buy a wireless headset. Most people prefer a more stable wired connection for online play, I know I do. But the choice is there if you want wireless. Also, changing a disc every 8 hours doesn't bother me, even though there's only a few multiple disc games. I don't play games for 8 hours a day, so no matter what game I'm playing, on PS3 or 360, I'm stilll needing to eject the disc before I power it off.

Yeah it's kind of outdated. Also, I didn't know so I'm asking, can you upgrade your 360's HDD with a laptop harddrive or are you forced to buy the ultra expensive Xbox brand ones?

Negative.

Its awesome.

Its the "hub" in my living room.

When the PS3 gets a controller that doesn't feel like a toy. And when I can just turn on and of the PS3 without a stupid standby button and I can chat with my grandmother while playing halo and while shes playing uno.

Then the PS3 can be more than a bunch of buzz words to me.

While sony still trying to be a future-proof console, MS would've already released their "future" console. Then sony would announce their next "future-proof" console which they will claim to be a couple times more powerful than MS's future console. According to my crystal ball

Well on my PS3, most of my HDD is taken up by demos, PSN games, photos, and music. And soon it's going to be filled even more with DVR recordings (if Playtv comes to the US) and Littlebigplanet levels. So I'm going to spend $130 bucks on a 320GB HDD for it.

Outdated ? With Gears 2 visuals that destroy 99.999% of games visuals in all systems ? Or with Alan Wake, Far Cry 2, Fable 2 etc etc ?

Nope, it looks like the cutting edge to me, and has in game music and a pad with rumble, unlike the old gen OS of PS3

Also with almost zero RPG's, PS3 is not the console for the future, is the console to never buy in the future

Yeah, yesterday my friend brought his 360 over to my house and we played Gears of War. The battery pack was really annoying, I had no space for my fingers. Also I used to own one about a year ago.

you hit that right on the head...

How many times are we going to continue this garbage cycle... the ps3 gets a decent review or one or two positive announcements in a sea of negative ones and all of a sudden some cow tries to convince us all that the 360 has seen its day. Spare me. Spare us all... the 360 in every way is still the leading "now" gen console in terms of online, game library and arguably controller and value. stop with the mad cow disease.

Out of curiosity, why would you take out the disc before you turn off your systems? It's not like the disc drives aren't stable or anything during start-up, at least from my experience.

It just makes me feel better. No clue why, but that's how I roll.

[QUOTE="Relys"]It's just you, and the cow below you.-Ninja_Dog-

you hit that right on the head...

Beautifully eloquent.

and true... Sometimes you have to remind yourself that those who create threads like this are .01 of .01 percent of those who actually matter. Anyone with half a functioning brain can tell you that when a console coming off a 25 million instal base is beating a 100+ million I.B. 2 and a half years in to its life cycle, it means that the 360 has lasting appeal, strong support and the strength to see the generation through.

[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]To Sony fans, it's always been outdated. Cell processor makes it extinct. :roll:Relys

This is a big difference from my online play eperince with both systems.

blu-ray is needed, as a player and potential for games..mgs4 is proof.

-Wifi i really dont care that ps3 has it, its not really needed.

-not having batteries is a plus, pain in the ass.

-PS3 has bluetooth connectivity, most people have blu-tooth now because its illegal to talk on phone while driving (and ps3 age group is averaging in the mid 20's. However, the xbox standard mic was a nice gift.

-Your right, ps3 was born to truly be a 10 year lasting next gen system (thats why its expensive), but now devs are releizing the power and able to work off it. I think the reason why you think your xbox is outdated it because of ps3s hidden power (but most companies just want money and thats it, they dont care if there game flops, they just want the money) in that case, they dont put in the hard work say the makers of mgs4 or even gearsofwar2. And in that case xbox is fine for playing that game aswell as ps3.

-Basically if its feeling outdated, idn buy a ps3 if you think it will help (however i would wait, a new better version of it is coming out in fall i think)

"Blu Ray isn't needed" dude that's not what this is about, wifi isn't needed either, the point is it's their, it's convenient. In a couple of years when DvD's really start to step aside you'll be happy you already have a great blu ray player.

[QUOTE="HaloJim79"]

Once Ingame XMB hits with the PS3 that will be another feather in the cap so to speak by the way.

kostmpekir

Also with almost zero RPG's, PS3 is not the console for the future, is the console to never buy in the future

you seem to be confused..PS3 isnt the next gen system because of its "old" os? That makes no sence.

ps3 is getting good rpgs, plus it was FF (which i wasnt really a fan of until i tried out crisis core on psp, and now im jealous for the new one). Outdaded 360, id say no, theres gears2 coming which is nice...but i wouldnt really use far cry 2 as an example, fable 2 is borderline.

ps3 is more futuristic however, with blu-ray, and everything works with it vis usb or bluetooth, its a media brick. So yay id say 360 isnt dead by any means, however ps3 is on a morale boost currently

You don't own a 360, and you aren't fooling anyone. Stop.

One good game comes out and people think the PS3 is the ****. Well let me tell you, one game is still one game. Plus, the textures in MGS4 are quite terrible in some places. If anything, Gears of War on the 360 is much technically better than MGS4 is due to the fact that it has better graphics.

-Ninja_Dog-

dualshock 3 is heftier and doesn't feel like a toy. ps3 does turn on and off using the controllers exact same way the 360 does. and theres this other invention...damn i cant quite remember what it is but i think alexander graham bell created it.

as fpr the topic at hand. M$ chose to go with all proven hardware(and still messed it up?RROD)and its age is starting to show. doesn't make it a bad console by any means, actually since they went with easy and proven hardware devs had an easy time programming so the good game were comming right from the start. on the other hand the console has hit its peak. advancements in the engines software and compression techniques may be able to trick more out of it but for the most part its at its limit.

At its limit? Give me some proof of this. Oh wait... you can't. The console is not at its limit, the devs are at the limit right now because no game on a console looks better than Gears of War except Gears of War 2. Even the best graphics games on the PS3 don't even come close to the quality the 360 can provide.

you did not just say that gears of war is better then MGS4...no, just no. gears was good and the graphics were mind blowing at the time. MGS4 graphics are phenomenal and the gameplay is solid. and to say onwe game is better then the other based of graphics alone is completely retarded. imho graphics shouldn't even be a part of the rating system. they should be mentioned in the review but thats it

Going to disagree with you on this one.

The reason at least why im hyped so much about ps3 currently is because mgs4 proved what the ps3 can do. Gears is a good game, a great game actually, but mgs4 is that much better imo.
