to me this E3 was all about the hardware and casuals.
so yes i agree with you, its nice to get some real interesting stuff
Well, maybe it's just me. Even though E3 10 wasn't bad, but there really wasn't any news that "wowed" me. In Comic Con, at least 2 (maybe 3) out of the 6 revealed characters wowed me, as well as the Street Fighter vs Tekken announcement, in which really wowed me. That announcement alone probably had to be my personal "giga bomb" news.
because up until this gen (for the most part), E3 always had giga bomb worthy news, at least IMHO that is.Why would expect anything elses? They're directed toward very different audiences. E3 is for the retail buyers. Comic-Con is for the fans and has a much broader reach.

People have become more media savvy in the past couple of years. There's such a greater opportunity to reach more people at this event that deals with movies, comics as well as videogames. That's where the average person can come and check out what's going on in panels and on the show floor.
It's really no wonder that it's making a much bigger splash.
It wasnt hard to one up the "we dont have any games you want to play but check out this new awesome motion controller that you can use to play all these games you didnt want in the first place blah blah" fiasco that was E3.
what game are you talking about?[QUOTE="ermacness"]
[QUOTE="nhh18"]
no. The game also looks rather lame spin-off to sell to fanboys of those games.

i kinda dug the motion tech, but in a slight case, I agree. I guess that's why Ninty won huh?:PIt wasnt hard to one up the "we dont have any games you want to play but check out this new awesome motion controller that you can use to play all these games you didnt want in the first place blah blah" fiasco that was E3.

Don't ever say those words again.
As do I, but i looks rather cool, even though it looks like total milkage at it's finest. 2 seperate companies working on 2 versions of the same game??!?!?!!!! This kind a milkage makes IW milkage look innocent:|[QUOTE="ermacness"]
[QUOTE="TSNAKE617"]
Street Fighter x Tekken. And I agree.demon-returns
Don't ever say those words again.
:lol::PI know that IW milkage is UNFORGIVABLE (even though i have bought every map pack released:D), but c'mon, releasing the same game done in 2d by one company, and 3d by another company is beyond milkage.
How does any of that even remotely compare to 3DS or 360 slim?because people knew about the 3ds and the 360 slim before e3 (or in the 3ds case, way before e3). Even Ninty confirmed it earlier this year and way before e3. We just seen how it worked at e3. As for as the 360 slim, we also knew about it as well (or heard very strong rumors about it). Both of these wasn't really giga bomb news to alot of people really.[QUOTE="ermacness"]

My thoughts exactly. Fighters had alot of stuff going on at Comic Con and there were a few other surprises, but overall it didn't come close to E3. I think Nintendo's show alone put Comic Con in its place. And maybe this is just me but why all this stuff going down at Comic Con? Some of it makes sense like Marvel vs. Capcom 3 but other stuff just left me scratching my head and made me think this was more E3 worthy. Perhaps if Sony and Microsoft hadn't been so worried about the motion control wars we'd have seen this information there instead of having to wait abit over a month to hear it. I say keep games out of Comic Con and save them for the actual game shows....For fighting game fans, sure. Overall, definitely not.

There were some great announcements, but video game wise, there wasn't much compared to E3.

Okay, then how does it compare to: Kirby's Epic Yarn Donkey Kong Country Returns Kid Icarus Uprising Goldeneye 007 Twised Metal Golden Sun Dark DawnThere where plenty of megaton announcements in just Nintendos conference this year
3DS lineup + a couple of Wii games.

yeah but from that list it looks to appeal to a more narrow spectrum of games and franchises- namely fighting games and comics.
The others have already been covered in E3
Not even close...
Epic Yarn announced
Donkey Kong Country announced
Goldeneye announced
Twisted Metal announced
Kid Icarus announced
3DS demonstration
A fantastic lineup of games for 3DS announced
Zelda Skyward Sword announced
Kingdoms for 360 announced
Portal 2 announced
...and much more announcements, and then all the hands ons and new developments for all the upcoming games already revealed (Halo Reach, Gears 3, Black Ops, Epic Mickey)
Yeah...E3 definetely had more
I'm guessing you only just saw the Sony and Microsoft conferences.It wasnt hard to one up the "we dont have any games you want to play but check out this new awesome motion controller that you can use to play all these games you didnt want in the first place blah blah" fiasco that was E3.
