This is the xbox one launch all over again,were lemmings such as your self(and probably on other account) claimed the xbox one would close a 40% gap based on a api or a cloud.

The gap is what it is saying it is 30% will not change it,saying 44% more CU to make it look bigger simple is just wasted effort is 18% to 21% with 10GB of faster memory and 6GB of slower memory and 120% slowed SSD.

Unlikely. Not without software exclusives which would entice people to buy the console. Sony is making the right move by focusing on the software. Unless Microsoft can respond with quality exclusive software of their own, it's going to be tough for them to compete.

No out of all gen only 1 the PS was on top graphically for 4 years,the rest it has been behind,the games more than make for it.

Now why do you feel the need to over blow the gap? Aren't you happy with 18% you need it to be 30 or 40% to enjoy the xbox?

I hope MS is able to price the weak S, at least 2 games less ($ 120) than the PS5 while still able to do next gen settings at 1080p.

if the ps5 is priced at 500 most people that buy next gen out of the gate will pay 500 even if series s is at 200. 90% of next gen buyers out of the gate know what there getting. know what teraflop are or ssd and want the most out of there 1000 tv's. same with series x. xbox fans who buy consoles out of the gate will buy the series x. even if at the same price of 500.

@gifford38: Because current gen's bases aren't even mostly 1080p stable, specially the xbox, and won't have the visual settings of next gen. Plus it'll probably be an aggresively priced investment for an entire generation.

1080p stable can be a decent upgrade from existing base consoles plus better graphics.

I honestly doubt most would buy the Series X in the long run if MS plays it right with the S, not too far off from how the base consoles are probably more popular. Initially I think you're right that X will likely sell much more though.

@joebones5000: I'm not sure if they're that far ahead in NA. Probably so in the other parts of the world but this might be where the S kicks in for somewhat developing regions.

Well maybe you should wait for the xeries X X version to be release,because the version you are getting at launch is just 18% more powerful,with faster and slower ram and a much slower SSD.

There is always conpromises,by this year the 3080 series will hit and already the series X and PS5 are weaker than the 2080ti so yeah compromises will always be there.

If you plan to get the best next generation version get a PC.

In fact that was confirmed by how shitty the xbox one sales were back in 2014 and how shitty the xbox one X sales were as well,console are cheaper than PC to buy,but that doesn't mean the majority of the console market would pay $500 for one.

$500 console is as out of reach for most console owners as a $2k PC is,and that is not my opinion is a fact,most people who bought an xbox one did so for $299 or less hell i dare say less.

The same with the PS4,xbox 360,PS3 and other consoles.

Hell the great majority of the PS2 and xbox were sold for $199 and lower again not retail price.

The whole space argument is pathetic you are not putting a 3 person sofa,you are getting a PC which can very well be on the side of your enterteiment system without problem.

No if you are looking for the best looking version is because you CARE about graphics and since you don't care for paying $15 a month for gamespass and $60 a year for online play i don't see why you can't go the extra mile and get the REAL best looking version which is PC and online free by the way so you save $60 a year,hell gamepass is cheaper on PC as well.lol
