Reach is toms better than all. It's the total package and the campaign gameplay is unrivaled reach> 2> CE> 3> odst Halo 2 is by far the most fun i've ever had online on a video game.
In my eyes, Combat Evolved, Reach, Halo 3, then Halo 2 (never played ODST or Halo Wars :P). Needless to say, Halo 2 was the most boring one in the series I've played (never knew why, but I never did like the Arbiter...playing his side of the story were chapters I would be better off not caring about :?).

I would have ranked Reach above 3 if it had better maps. Reach has some pretty lame maps, especially compared to Halo 3's maps (which were mostly all fantastic). True story. Reach's maps are terrible. Halo 3 had a few terrible maps (isolation and construct). All of Reachs maps are terrible, that's why I quit playing Halo 2 on the other hand has amazing maps. And remember swipe sniping? Man I swear I played H2 online as if it were WOW or something! Best. Online. FPS. Ever.
Online is tough, because i like the way the game plays in reach so much better, but plucking set pieces out of the single player and calling it a MP map a la COD was a bad idea. It works decent enough for invasion but for TS/Arena (which has a stupid ranking system) I can't think of any maps I really like a whole lot, and there are a few I hate.
Halo 2 did have the best maps, Halo Reach has the best gameplay. I'll say 3 is the best overall since it plays better then 2, and still has some great maps.
