Make a pros and cons sheet, write what ever comes to mind, then judge. I can't tell you whether its worth it or not because I am not you!

They're not bad games at all, that's for sure. You might be disappointed in the graphics, coming from a PC gaming perspective, but if you find the gameplay compelling, you'll probably forget about the crappy graphics.

That being said, I don't know about spending $300 for one or two games. I guess it's up to you, but I'd rather hold on to my $$$ for the next Steam sale :)

I wouldn't really advise buying a console because of one or two games. Best research all that it offers before making a decision.

I absolutly LOVE my 360... its the hub of my whole living room. amazing library of games aside, i set my christmas tree up the other while talking to my xbox to set up lastfm and swyping songs and menus without skipping a beat. It really is my favorite invention of the past 5 years.

Buying a system for anything less than 10 games in my opinion is stupid, even if those handful of games are spectacular.

if a few games interest you that much then you should get it. Honestly I have regularly only played about 2 games for the past year cause they are my favorites, I don't see why people think a system needs 500 exclusive good games for you to enjoy it

Gears 2 is wack, Gears 3 is so far away. Alan Wake is a great game, but after one 9-10 hour play through (if that) there is no real point to play again. Reach is fun, but you don't need a 360 to enjoy an FPS game with specs like that.

You kinda want to play these two games. I don't think "kinda" justifies a purchase.

If you have a PC and PS3 you're set. A 360 is very redundant with those 2 and lackluster in exclusives.

. Ps3 offers much more value, as it packs a larger HDD, Blu-Ray, free online, etc offering much more than 360, which makes you pay 60 $ a year for Xbox live. BTW, PS3 offers the best exclusives easily, especially when you check MetaCritic. BTW, what games does 360 have releasing anyways?

Best is relative, and doesn't stick. Reality remains that the Xbox 360 has more quality exclusives -- whether or not they're the "best" comes down to one's particular gaming tastes.

Nope. Don't forget buying a 360 means committing to a $60/year fee for the rest of the life of the console, as well. Just stick with your PC.

At this point? No unless you wanna get a used 360 and used games. It doesn't seem like your interested in enough of them to justify buying it.

Also, you want to buy a 360 for Gears of War 2? Terrible mistake. Just look up the plot online somewhere and have a good laugh. I assume the 3rd game will end with "Marcus, I am your mother!" or something equally awful.

Between the ps3 and PC, there are very few games you need a 360 to play. So, those game are what it all comes down to. It takes a number of game for me to want to buy a console, unless it does something else right out the game like how the ps3 plays blu-rays (then I can justify an early purchase).

Dire_Weasel

This is an important point.

If you do opt to get a 360 -- make sure you know what you're getting into.

If you just want to play the 360's single player exclusives, it can be an alright investment. You could pick up a4Gb 360 for $199, play through the single player games and then go back to your other systems for online stuff.

If, however, you're interested in buying lots of DLC, playing games online and making full use of Live, it will cost you a lot more money. And the amount of money it'd cost you is, I think, just too much for someone who owns a PC and PS3. But that's just my opinion.

I currently have all 3 systems, but I 1) don't pay for XBL Gold and 2) don't have a hard-drive equipped 360. I use my 360 just to play the odd game like Alan Wake, rented Gears 2 and played it offline. Works for me.

i own a ps3 and 360 but i think the ps3 isnt as good of a deal as a 360 mostly because of the feel of controller and the games i played on both. most of my friends played 360.

XBL being superior is subjective (Mostly because these features you can/should be getting for free. The online gaming component is the same thing for both platforms.) PS3 offers more entertainment value than the 360. You can only buy a bigger hard drive for the new 360 if I remember right. You know, the new 360 that took Microsoft 5 years to release because their earlier revisions were failures? I was able to replace the HDD in my PS3 since day 1.

Killzone, LBP, GT5, ModNation Racers, Uncharted, MAG, MGS4, GoW3, Demon Souls...see I can list superior games too and say the 360 is for poor people because it has cheaper hardware and is priced cheaper than the PS3.

I bought my xbox360 for the veery same reasons. All these games are great along with others like Banjo , Lost Odissey , Viva Pinata (I like it lol) , Fable , Halo , but still it is way less played than my ps3 and pc.I don't regret it cause the money isn't really an issue , but don't expect it to uhh let's say change your habits , as long as these games are finished you'll be back to pc.

If I were you, you'd better save up that $300 to $400 you're going to waste on a few semi-decent 360 games and spend them all on the Steam Deals this holiday and save some for the KILLER LINE-UP for the PC ánd PS3 next year. Buying a 360 now would be like investing all your money into Enron...you will only lose.

Pass on the 360 if you are a PC gamer, I think you will be highly disappointed. I know I was when I had one from '05-'08. However, I kind of grew out of consoles, they just don't have what it takes to satisfy me. I fell so damned confined when I play on them.

You are a PC gamer and PS3 gamer, and if you enjoy the PS3 exclusives then next year will keep you very busy. Buy a 360 and that's $300 or so down the drain when you could have bought games for your PC/PS3, add another $50ish for LIVE if you want that and games.

Not worth it to me.

NO!!! the ps3 is the much better value! free online, MAG, Playstation HOME, Blu-ray, GT5 etc, etc. The xbox 360 is garbage!

That was my cow impression.

....Ummm If you used 100 dollars, you can buy a 500 GB HDD for PS3, unlike 100 dollar 60 GB HDD for 360  .BTW, you pay 60 dollars a year for 360 for cross game chat, in other words, XBL is a bare bones service for it being premium. When you buy a PS3, you obtain a much higher value out of box than 360, thats not debatable. Crackdown? PDZ?. Really? If thats the case, 360 has a poor line-up. Besides, PS3 destroys 360 in amount of exclusive titles of upcoming line-up

But see you are the one thats wrong because you're pushing your 150% biased opinion as fact. You're proving nothing and just saying "blablabla" is better without providing any sort of backup besides "Cause I said so."

PS3 has better value beyond just gaming. It has Blu-Ray, 7.1 loseless sound over HDMI, has only had 1 major revision, doesn't nearly suffer from hardware failure as much as the 360 does, free online gaming, free access to Netflix (something you're already paying for,) the occasional free DLC where Microsoft charges for everything simply because they can, and it has a fully functional internet browser. It sucks trying to argue that the 360 belongs in 3rd place instead of dead last doesn't it?

If you really only wanted to play three games on the 360, you could roll the dice and try picking up a refurbished 360 from Gamestop for $99. The problem is this thing could red ring on you very, very easily. But if you only wanted to play a couple games on it it would probably be able to last.

But see you are the one thats wrong because you're pushing your 150% biased opinion as fact. You're proving nothing and just saying "blablabla" is better without providing any sort of backup besides "Cause I said so."

PS3 has because they can, and it has a fully functional internet browser. It sucks trying to argue that the 360 belongs in 3rd place instead of dead last doesn't it?better value beyond just gaming. It has Blu-Ray, 7.1 loseless sound over HDMI, has only had 1 major revision, doesn't nearly suffer from hardware failure as much as the 360 does, free online gaming, free access to Netflix (something you're already paying for,) the occasional free DLC where Microsoft charges for everything simply

ChubbyGuy40

once again you haven't proved a thing. 360 has sold more. 360 has better games even if the service was just 60 a month for the same since its games are far superior it makes it worth it you can get an hdd on ps3 for cheaper and so on wow but once again back to the games 360 has better games its like you know you've lost and you bring up features that dont even relate to the games. but at the end of every day 360 has better games, gets higher review scores, games sell better, and you're still in dead last and for the guy who said crackdown is bad you can cry more because no ps3 exclusive goes near it. i cant wait to play gears 3 and cryteks xbox 360 exclusive while your stuck with uncharted and killzone 2.5

If there's enough games to interest you and you have the time and money to manage another system then why not.

Yes, the system has a quality lineup of budget titles and XBL has a nice selection of downloadable titles (that Silver subscribers can buy). -Gears of War 2 & 3 -Alan Wake -Halo 3, ODST, Reach -Limbo, Monday Night Arcade -Xbox 1 Games If you're only buying it for a few games and really have no interest in the rest then buy one of the older systems or the $199 version

So guy, im mainly a PC gamer (80-90%) and i aslo have a PS3 with all the exclusives and console exclusives, i played the first Gears Of War on my PC but i kindda wanna play the 2nd and the 3rd game and also Alan Wake looks sorta interesting, so at this point is is worth investing in a new XBOX for those games?

Siamak8286

Noone can tell you what's going to be the right choice but you really gotta love Halo and Gears to justify a 360 if you have a rig and a ps3 as far as I'm concerned.

I owned somebody? YAY! Now to pick apart his response again.

The 360 has sold more, this is a fact. What has better games is entirely up to the user. Critics may rate 360 games higher, but you must understand this is just another opinion. It's not a set-in-stone truth. You cannot state your opinions as facts about this subject, especially when all you say it "oh me gawdz iz so much betta cause its all like PEWPEW so leet it owns PS3." You're showing the arguing skills of a 7 year old. By your logic, we should be justifying the XBL price even more because the games are good. They shouldn't be charging for P2P gaming in the first place. I said the PS3 was a better entertainment system, but it is also a better gaming solution IMO. The only thing that didn't relate to gaming was the mentioning of Netflix. Pay the 10 bucks or whatever it is to use it on everything but the 360. You must pay for a Gold account for access to that while everyone else has it free.

Also, I'm not dead last. I'm a PC fanboy at heart, although I love consoles except for the 360.
