I don't own it as it's not out in the UK yet, but I'm still finding it hard to believe that the reviews are so harsh. Surely the controls can't be that bad. Anyway, I stumbled upon this video and it seems as though the controls aren't totally broken. Maybe people are expecting to play in a fast and frantic way when they shouldn't be. Or maybe I'm just trying to justify why I still want it so badly. >_>

Perhaps not, but would a dragon be that responsive? :o I imagine them to be slow and heavy.

I would say it can be likable. For me though no. The controls simply do not follow the pace of the game. The flying is similar to rogue squadron so you cant do any quick movements with the sixaxis. I suggest you rent it and see if you like how the game plays.

I was hoping for a demo, but that seems unlikely considering it's out elsewhere. I haven't rented a game since the Mega Drive. :P

Nah, it's pretty enjoyable, but the controls can get so frustrating in certain areas that you want to throw the damn controller.

Ionno, it looks fun to me regardless of the scores it got, give it a shot.  No harm in a rental

It's bad, but it's probably not as bad as your sig. Jeez what do you see in that girl, she looks like a 14 year old...:?

Yeah, it's a decent enjoyable game. Not a system seller or anything, but it's definitely not as bad as Gamespot and IGN said it was. It's just a decent game. Take that how you will.

I played it, and I thought it was okay. The controls were a little weird, and unresponsive about 3/10 times, but they weren't TOTALLY broken. I think the game is more like a 6.0. It doesn't deserve to be rated BELOW Daikatana.

did you read any reviews?

they said in open areas the controlls are good, tight sections are not. which was what you had to do ;)

the video shows no tight sections....

It's not nearly as bad as the reviewers claim. Not even close to that bad. The controls work fine and you can get very used to them.... I have no clue why reviewers would think them broken. It's just a little awkward at first and you don't have pinpoint instant aiming and turns.... which is what flying a dragon would probably be like and the devs were aiming for in the first place. But yeah it's still not a very good game anyways in other aspects. Deserves a 6-7. Damned good visuals though.

The controls may work outside the levels but the lock-on and when you are in un-open levels, it makes things a lot harder or so I heard and the missions are quite tedious. Just read GS's review of Lair. If you're interested in the game, rent it and see if you like it or not. ;)

Its not often that GS gives a game less than a 6. With that said, a 4.5? Think about it....

Yeah, I remember, and I can imagine that it does get a bit frustrating. It still looks fun... but I don't want to buy another Genji.
