Is Mass Effect the best game so far this gen...?

I played the Demo of bioshock, i'd buy it on ebay yea, but Uncharted is WOW for me, best graphics, cool character, best physics, just great polishing of a great game. Mass Effect, well I owned KOTOR on Xbox and never finished it and thought it got stupid, I have to admit, I like JRPG over WRPG. I own Oblivion and while it looked great, its wasn't as fun as a Final Fantasy game. During Oblivion I had this ah pop the game in lets get this crap over with feeling. Just wanting to beat it, I'm putting it on Ebay now. So yea Uncharted 1st, COD4 2nd, Warhawk 3rd. Now, if I owned Gears of war which I don't I'd put that third instead of Warhawk and then Bioshock 5th or 6th.

I agree with what you said in your initial post colmusterd28.

It does everything very well. Granted, it does have flaws but if you look hard enough at any game you'll find flaws there as well. Obviously though, Mass Effect's Pros far outweigh the cons. A great story, gameplay was incredible, and the graphics were gorgeous. Replay value is pretty high as well. You can go back through it and pick option B instead of option A. I really liked it and I agree. This is the best game so far. Bioshock comes in with a close second though.

Bioshock must be pretty good if you only played the demo and its your 5th or 6th best game of this gen... damn.

Downgraded Gears of War combat ( as in, not as fleshed out ).

Unbalanced gameplay all the way through ( Getting Spectre Weapons 1/4 through the game = LOL )...

Slugish UI/Hotkey system ( PC version will fix this apperently )

LIMITED CHOICES : the dialogue options, EXCEPT the obious BLUE OR RED choices lead to the same actions always.... had nothin on th The Witcher's decisions

It was nowhere near perfect... AA is about right.

I think the best game so far this gen is The Orange Box, by far the best value and its games are great, after that I would go with Uncharted.

I don't consider that to be a very fair fight as the PC constantly upgrades. You're comparing oranges to apples. Sure at the time of 360's release, the PC was this gen but by today's PC spec's you can still stand there and claim it's "this" gen? Consoles can't do DX 10 last I heard. So how on earth can they even compete or compare? Ah but here's where you can fall back on DX 9... Clever. Bah, it's not a fair fight and I don't think the TC had PC in mind.(Edit: The TC did specify "consoles")

Topic... If not what is and why, you must support with actual reasoning ( I know, madness on SW) Don't post if you've never played Mass Effect...

My vote is that yes, it is the best game so far this gen on any console... it is the most complete in gameplay, story, and graphics... a beautiful game.

im sure this has been said in this thread but no, with all of the technical issues it has, it cant be the best game so far. its a great game and AAA in MY book, but not the best. for a game that got pushed back as much as it did its amazing that it feels rushed (and too many of the planets feel the same and just are different colors
