Is Master chief just a 40k Space Marine?

Does he remind anyone else of the Space marines developed by the table-top wargaming company Games workshop back in 1987.

Games Workshop didn't come up with the idea of power armor, it think it first appeared in Lensman which a old book from 1930's

No,

WH40k have the most twisted view of their franchise, its super original and everything else is base on it! Its as though they don't even realise what makes it different and instead focus on things that nearly every other setting has. Its like power armour... c'mon, its not even what makes the Space Marines unique.

In the halo universe theres no such thing as the USMC there only the UNSC (United nations Space corp) aka the marines and Master Chief isnt in the marines hes apart of the Navy special warfare division.

actually they are quite different.

MC is only enhanced physicly and his armor has a shield generator

Space marines are enhanced physicaly but they also have 2 hearts and stuff like that, their armor is also nearly inpenitrable and lacks any shielding

I meant The space marines, the might of the Imeprium of man and the imortal emperors fist in the fight against the alien menace in the Warhammer 40k universe.

They were created as genetically superior humans........much like the spartans
