But does MS care, or in touch with what consumers wants like they did back in 2006?

But somehow they seem to have gotten their act together if the rumors of the PS3's superior hardware design relative to X720 is true.

Having said that, and if the rumors were to be taken seriously, What would you advise a company like MS for next gen?

I feel the only advice I could give is to monitor closely what happened to Nintendo, they lost the loyalty credit they had with hardcore gamers last gen with the Wii in favor of casuals.

Which served them well until the casual fad novelty ran out and now neither casuals nor hardcore gamers seem to be as interested in their new under-powered console as they did with the Wii.

The last rumor I heard was both systems were pretty much on par with the other. This was coming from developers who are working on BOTH systems. There have been negative stories and comments for both consoles. The XBox 360 launch was a huge success. They couldn't even keep them on retail shelves. I would think Sony would be more worried then Microsoft after the PS3 launch and all the billions in loses they've had because of the system. The Xbox consoles have always had plenty of games at launch, so I don't see the problem. Microsoft always finds a way. Sony's PS3 and PSVita launches weren't good at all. So who should be worried?

I'm done with Xbox.  I bought a 360 slim this gen just to give it a chance and it completely underwhelmed me.  First of all, everyone I know has had their Xbox 360 break except me because I got the slim version.  The game lineup for the 360 is by far the worst of the 3 consoles.  I bought a wireless controller for the 360 and the thing just straight up stopped working.  That has never happened to me in my life, a controller just not working.  I didn't drop it or misuse it or anything and it had only been used for like 10 hours and it just stopped working.  Not only that, I bought 4 wired controllers to use with both my 360 and my PC, and every time I plug in more than 1 of the wired controllers into my 360, each controller is recognized as player 1.  I've tried system restarts, unplugging and plugging the controllers back in, same issue.  They all show up as player 1.  I've read about the problem online and apparently it's a widespread issue.  Not only do they all show up as player 1, but only one of the controllers is allowed to even be responsive at any given time. 

Consoles breaking for no reason, worst software lineup, controllers breaking for no reason, plugging 4 separate controllers into the console only to have them all be recognized as player 1 literally rendering all 3 other controllers useless (to the extent of them not even being responsive), Xbox Live fees for no good reason other than to charge you.  I mean come on, Xbox Live doesn't give you anything extra, it's just giving you the ability to use the internet you already pay for.

I'm in the same boat as you; not impressed with Xbox at all. I've had problems with my 360 controllers too! Such defective pieces of sh!t, and the design is really poor.

Microsoft's E3 events has been nothing but apps and stupid sponsorships. You know they have no games when they had to bring in a celebrity to dance for them. Those events are supposed to be about games, for God's sake.

No way the 720 outsells the PS4 if all those negative rumors are true. Microsoft might as well not even release the 720 if they actually ban used games.

I usually try to get every console from the main companies, but based on the rumours, Durango is the one I want the least. I'll probably end up buying it anyway though. I just hope MS isn't stupid enough to go threw with some of these rumours.
