There is no point of praising a service that doesn't have anything as of yet. All their games are old, and anybody who cared, has already beaten them before they were even on the service. If you're constantly shilling it on forums, that fine, its just Xbox fanboys that have trouble finding anything positive to say about their system of choice, but on the social media? Paid actors, bruh.

Yes. Specially on Resetera. There are daily threads about gamepass on that forum and they all sound like astroturfing. I'm convinced MS pays people to do so.

Not gonna be surprised if its true. Not the first time xbox caught paying for brand advertising.

While it certainly wouldn’t surprise me if they did, it’s really just a thing that companies do, it’s not like it’s a lie or deceptive. If a company wanted to give me money to talk about something that I felt was true anyway then hell yeah I’d take that money. The service is more then worth the money for me for sure. More games on it that I’d like to play then I currently have time for.

It is when you're not informing people that you're being paid to do so. There's a reason why influencers and artists say a post is promoted and paid for, because it's the ethic thing to do. Otherwise it's shady and unethical.

The ironic thing is because people have accused MS of paying for twitter mentions #xboxgamepass has been trending on twitter all weekend with non blue checkmark people using the hashtag because they think the whole idea is ridiculous

Of course they are paying influencers for positive reviews for gamepass and games just like any company dose it and fanboys believe any positive news about their favorite brand

They probably are (as are all companies) but I do not think twitter is the most ideal place to do that promotion. Youtube videos yes, media articles yes... but the 280 character limit on twitter kind of puts a kink in useful promotion. Plus twitter is not as popular as things like Instagram and TicTok it would make more sense to promote it there.

Yeah, Sony and MS always get caught with their pants down doing that stuff. But marketing will market, and apparently that is legal.

Wouldn't be surprised if they did it. After all, it's current marketing to pay "influencers" to speak nicely about your product. Doesn't mean that people don't enjoy Game Pass though.

You can get a 3 month trail for £1 although it's for new subscribers. Like Netflix gives the first month free etc.

What if the influencer don't use GamePass but say they like it because they were paid is that legal or not? You aren't using it but say you love it etc.
