@GhostHawk196: are you implying that Scorpio (which is 6TFLOPS) is NOT capable of producing Uncharted 4's graphics or even better (which runs on a 1.8TFLOPS console) ?

Cause that would be stupid.

Well obviously the Scorpio in theory can run Uncharted 4 much better than the PS4, just like my GTX1080 has the ability to make Uncharted 4 look photorealistic but the point is Naughtydog is a Sony first party studio and the chance of Uncharted 4 ever being available on the Xboned Scorpio is as high as how much frames uncharted 4 currently runs on the Xbone which is 0. The point is, what's the point of 6TF console if it doesn't have quality exclusives like Uncharted 4?

Uncharted 4... a "quality" exclusive.

Depends on your display. If you have a Pansonic/Samsung plasma from 2012-2013 or a Pioneer Kuro... Keep them. If not... Why not go for a new TV?

@brah4ever: 4K is pointless on a display smaller than 55" when it comes to viewing movies. You don't really see clear differences until you get to 75+ and even bigger than 100".

4K is way more important for projectors than it is TVs.

Even then, JVCs excellent X70/X700/X90/X900 1080p projectors can blast a Full HD image on a 120" screen and you can sit as close as 10 feet away from that 120" (four times bigger than a 60", 16 times bigger than a 30") and the image will still be razor sharp and superior in quality to that of almost any 4K TV. Any except OLEDs. Maaaybe the flagship FALDs, but that's stretching it imo.

No

The actual good ones are insanely expensive and the cheap ones are massively lacking in many other areas. Better off with a high quality 1080p set for a good few years yet.

If you're in the market for a TV, you should get a 4KTV. There are plenty that are reasonably priced.

Considering im 3' from my 50" 4k screen, I get the full benefits of the higher res.

In a normal 8-10' viewing distance living room? Yea not worth it.

I've been gaming on an old 32' 720p Samsung for the past 8 years and I'm fine with it. =P

Time to upgrade. Moving to a 4k Vizio D40u-D1 was one of the best moves I've made as a PC gamer. You should see the size of Jim Raynor's codpiece on the player select screen in Heroes of the Storm. It's quite impressive.

I'm not gaming at 4k, but 1080p is still very, very impressive, and desktop work is fantastic, with a ton of real estate on which to work.

Imo, for Tvs yes but for monitors no. There are no monitors (from what I know of) that is 4K above 60fps.

I'm guessing that if PC is barely keeping up with 4K unless you have the highest end card on the market today (maxed out on everything of course), then the consoles probably won't either unless it's not native.

Won't get 4k until it's like the norm. Hopeing my current hardware lasts another 5-8 years.

The only 4k TV I'd even consider is the LG OLED55E6P or the LG OLED65E6P

You might as well wait for it to become standard because by then oled screens will be at mainstream prices meaning much better quality than you can get now, unless you are going to be forking out huge money and enjoy having the best screen, and have access to large amount of 4K content it isn't really worth it.
