The ones that have turn based combat though hold on their own, like Banner Saga, i never get bored of nice turn based stuff, only the diablo clones make me sleepy

so you grew tired of playing diablo clones and then stopped playing them. this leaves you into a position where you don't know anything about recent games and this is blatantly obvious since you consider any top down game to be a diablo clone even though the only game i listed that was anything close to a diablo clone was diablo 3 itself. i mentioned rpg/rts, open-world, sandbox, and even two turn based games.

As the other poster pointed out it's rather uncanny how all the paths and roots line up exactly and the house sits right under the tree.

Pre rendered means they are not using an engine in the ingame world so it doesnt worth crap, its just avideo. Strangely enough square enix's tech demo almost looks prerendered and it was done on a pc.dakan45

That is only the early artwork though, the world is now made fully in 3D and rendered

Early version with place holders, also i said early stages, which means the first steps i took when making it

You do realize that most games early versions use placeholders, right ?

You cant possibly have all the final assets created 3 years before shipping the game

maybe in your peculiar mind this is possible, but in the real world assets are made until the last minute

Also the game is now made fully in 3D, so it is not even like in those videos at all
