[QUOTE="kaos-hero"]GS did give it RPG of the year. So take it for what it's worth.
Famitsu gave it RPG of the year when it first came out here in Tokyo.
There really isn't a game like it. Half dating sim, half rpg.

No offense but that sounds stupid as hell.

I own it and I think it's great. It does have a big japanese feel to it. It being a jrpg and all.. It's a long game too, I'm about 40 hours in and looking at the games calendar I'm apparently far from being done. Thats Atlus for ya. :)

yeah i could tell it was a japan thing.
The sim aspects of the game worked really well strangely enough. Its a truely unique game combining the aspects of normal day life and school life with aspects of a dark an twisted netherworld of sorts with completely unique takes on the genre.
You could say its managed to land itself in a niche of its own, but the story of the game, character development and ideas in the game are truely awesome.
If you think the FF games on PS2 are good then this pretty much story wise lays them in there graves.
[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]If you play and enjoy JRPG's then yes, it is a game you will most likely enjoy.Bigboi500That's all I needed to hear, but then again I despise The Sims games so I hope I don't regret buying P3 FES.
Its got sim elements mate, but they don't overkill it, they aren't tedious and they are generally over pretty quickly.

I have FES reserved, but I have a buddy that can get me a copy of Persona 3 now for $60. Is it worth it to own both?
If FES has everything and then some, why not wait? Am I missing something?

Persona came about last in reader votes though for RPG 2008, so will take the tsousands of user opinion over gamespot
No, its not worth to own both. Persona 3 fes is the full version of the game + with an 30 hours of more story added to the game, plus with other features and more personas. I bought persona 3 when it first released now im getting persona 3 fes.I have FES reserved, but I have a buddy that can get me a copy of Persona 3 now for $60. Is it worth it to own both?

I think any game where you have to tell people to have a crap sucks.
Fun game, cute characters, great plot
The thing is it gets really repetitive. I got 40 hours in and just didn't feel like doing the same old thing anymore. Go to school, go to activities, go to tartarus...........blah blah blah. Got to boring:( Maybe I'll go back to playing it some day beacuse I really liked the story, but for now my ps3 is keeping plant occupied!
Truly amazing RPG. It's unlike pretty much everything out there
by FES (Super extended version) for 30 bucks when it comes out in the USA soon. Trust me you will not be dissapionted

Thats because the mass majority of the world didnt get their hands on Persona 3 yet. At this point, it's super rare and from what ive seen has recieved critical accclaim.
You can go with your reader votes, ill go with metacritic where Persona 3's metacritic scored a [87] in comparison to Fable's [85].
