It feels like Dead Space was an western take on a Japanese horror game in that, certain concepts like cumbersome controls, bad camera, bad inventory are placed in Japanese horror games to add tension. I think Dead Space proved that you do not need all that to make a tense and horrifying game. To come from a horror game where you can move and shoot at the same time, and a lack of a UI for immerson sakes, and also very different monsters from the classical "zombie-like" structure, to a game where you cannot move and shoot at the same time and a very traditional monster design.
That being said, is RE5 in trouble because of Dead Space?
