Is silent hill 2 the pinnacle of writing for video games?

Do you think SH:2 is one of the best written games of all time? Incredible story atmosphere so on and so fourth. I love the game to death and think it can be held as one of the best written games of all time. Making the player still think about it years after a playthrough.

Planescape: Torment, most of Black Isle's games, and several adventure games are better than SH2's.

Silent Hill 2 is great. Silent Hill is good too. So are Siren and Siren 2.

Xenogears also deserves mention, as well as Final Fantasy Tactics.

MGS has an overall good story, but as far as good writting I would say it cheats because every game by itself has some story elements that make little to no sense and needed some kind of fixing or elaboration in the sequels.

Silent Hill 2 is great but PlaneScape Torment is far superior. I can also think of some other titles that beat SH2 in terms of writing. Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story, XenoGears (even though it wasn't a finished project), Metal Gear Solid 1,2,3 (even though Kojima and Murata need editors LOL)
