Is Spiderman the biggest megaton exclusive of all time?

The reason it is in the discussion is because it isn't your typical exclusive. It's based on a Disney/Marvel property and not something created by first party. This is something that no one ever could have possibly predicted before it was officially announced.

The last time we saw an exclusive of this magnitude was probably on the PS2 when the GTA games were exclusive for a full year before going to Xbox. However this game will never be appearing on any other platforms.

I legitimately don't understand the obsession over this game on this forum. Maybe it's because I'm not a Spiderman fan. But I guess that kind of answers the question. PS has way better things to offer than a Spiderman game, IMO.

Well according to System Wars Moderators, "megaton" no longer exist. The only thing we can all agree on is, Spider-Man PS4 will cause a lot of salty Xbox gamers and you know who they are.

Except that almost all exclusives that are successful on PC are later ported to consoles.

And PC is not a company, there's no one behind it, so it's the developer decision only when a game is exclusive for it and it's way more forced when it is because it has no ties or contratual obligations with PC to do so.

I think if you measure the level of megaton as directly proportional to the amount of butthurt and damage control it has caused then I will say UC4 is still the king this gen, followed by GOW. Maybe Spiderman will dethrone both but who knows. Last gen it was MGSIV, the ripples of butthurt from that one went even well into this gen. That was an atomic megaton.

Also I didn't pay for the PS4 Pro and don't pay for the games, I just borrow the system the weekend after each forced exclusive comes out and max them in 1-2 days because that's how long those shallow games last

If this was not an exclusive, how hyped would people actually be for the game? It's another Spider-Man game. Another to go along with the many that have come before and the many movies that have been rebooted a million times. I personally don't hear people talking about this game outside of SW. The game looks good, but it seems to be over-hyped by a select few here on SW.
