It's not full of games I'd like to play, but the motion controls have introduced me to gameplay of the likes of Boom Blox, which was, and is, a fantastic game.
My experience with the Wii is kind of limited, as I didn't own one for long before getting rid of it, but basically my thoughts are as follows:
Motion controls, when used as gestures to replace button presses, sucks balls. There is no Earthly reason to replace a fully functional, and accurate, input with a less accurate input that is effectively the same thing.
Motion controls, when they are applied to things that otherwise couldn't be done, are awesome, and expand the possibilities for games as we know them, and give us more options when gaming.
That all being said, it seems the system has improved much (as in the library) since I sold it, almost as if devs have had the same thoughts as myself in this matter. In the beginning, all the games were incorporating motion controls because that's what the Wii was perceived to be about, whether the game could benefit from them or not. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. So, no, the Wii seems like an excellent system. provided you enjoy the games on it.
