I say it's a pretty good system. Some of the best exclusives are on the Wii. It is lacking 3rd party support but it's getting more everyday. It also got Monster Hunter Tri :3 It's worth buying one for the exclusives imo.

Wii owner's response: Of course it isn't!

Regular person: Eh, it's alright

Cow/Lemming: It sucks! 360/PS3 da bess!

So basically most of the responses will be saying it sucks.

i have a wii ps3 and 360. and i play my 360 and wii the most.....for the time being. dont let ANYONE tell you that the wii isnt a good console. its got some excellent games outside of mario and metroid and zelda...the traditional nintendo franchises. theres more to the wiis library aside from shovelware that people need to play before they judge the system as a whole. my solution to you is buy one and if you dont like it return it. go to the wii board for info on some good games.....hell i can recommend you some classics, BUT with the wii i will say this.....you MUST be open to new experiences.

It's not full of games I'd like to play, but the motion controls have introduced me to gameplay of the likes of Boom Blox, which was, and is, a fantastic game.

My experience with the Wii is kind of limited, as I didn't own one for long before getting rid of it, but basically my thoughts are as follows:

Motion controls, when used as gestures to replace button presses, sucks balls. There is no Earthly reason to replace a fully functional, and accurate, input with a less accurate input that is effectively the same thing.

Motion controls, when they are applied to things that otherwise couldn't be done, are awesome, and expand the possibilities for games as we know them, and give us more options when gaming.

That all being said, it seems the system has improved much (as in the library) since I sold it, almost as if devs have had the same thoughts as myself in this matter. In the beginning, all the games were incorporating motion controls because that's what the Wii was perceived to be about, whether the game could benefit from them or not. That doesn't seem to be the case anymore. So, no, the Wii seems like an excellent system. provided you enjoy the games on it.

I try to play Wii, but I just can't no game has hooked me since Brawl. I can appreciate Mario, Metroid, etc. but I never played games when I was younger so there is no nostalgia and I just find them kinda meh.

the wii is a great system that is extremely underrated this gen there is also a lot of ignorance to the wii online i have heard a lot of things like" wii users stand up and fail their arms around to play games" yet i have never really stood up to play any of my games less fail my arms around, i wont lie and there are a lot of bad games on the wii but bad games and "shovelware" games have been around since the dawn of gaming and they wont go away as long as games are made, the wii has a great exclusive list of games the problem is that dev's cut corners on wii muilti system games.

I'm amazed, almost 100% of the posts so far have said the Wii is great, and the ones that don't like it say it's just not for them but it's probably great for people who are into it.

I guess that great exclusive lineup this year caused a more positive outlook.

Great post, I totally agree on motion controls. When waggle is used to replace a button it's crap, but when used to do innovative things or help immerse the gamer, they are great. The latter is definitely what Nintendo had in mind, just a lot of devs didn't want to bother.

Classics and Mario, you just names two of the only reasons to have one. Its not like we hate it for no reason, its the only Nintendo system I haven't loved.

The Wii isn't bad at all, it just hardly appeal to most people on here i suppose. I grew up with Nintendo, even if what they released this gen, console wise, doesn't interest me i'll always be a nintendo fans at heart. There's a wide array of retro games in the wii shop, lucky people get mystic quest. ;_;

It's nice because it isn't more of the same. From the PC, PS3, and 360 you can get pretty much all the same stuff minus a few choice exclusives. Wii is like pure exclusives. There are bad games on every system, so just don't buy bad games. There're way more than enough unique, fun, wii exclusives you can't play anywhere else.

I agree. Many gamers were introduced to the hobby by Nintendo. Yes, there were consoles before, and arcades, but the concept of characters that one comes to love and impressive games in the home, Nintendo was at the front. There latest effort is not for me, and I hope they go bigger next gen, if only so I can play a Zelda game with U2 graphics/physics, and hopefully full voice acting.

OoT remains my favorite game of all time, and has kept that title through 2 generations. I can't credit any other developer more than Nintendo with making a lasting impression on me, and I want them to do so again.

That's actually a nice way to put it. HD consoles (Which output low HD) try too hard to do a lot of PC accessories and it makes them look like gimped PC's. They need to be like the consoles of last generation (Have more splitscreen games, games you could play with other people) The Wii tries to be different, and the games don't appeal to everyone, but that's understandable, since there's a lot of niche ones.

its not a bad system- but it lacks in a few areas... I do indeed wish they would have gone high-def to begin with, but i suppose at the time that wasn't feasible.

Provided you have one of the other consoles or a gaming PC then the Wii could be a fun little extra. If it's your only way to game this gen then it is severely lacking. 360 has 38 AAA titles, PS3 has 37, PC has has 30 this gen, Wii has 9. Think that should tell you all you need to know. There are a few good games available for it and it does offer something different, have a look at the library and see if it's worth the money to you.

The Wii is a good system with some great games, just not nearly as many as the other two consoles this gen.

since the graphics are at gamecube level it would be the last console i would play in this generation, to be honest i didnt even tried it out in the mall the graphics were just enough but then again other people like it a lot.

The Wii is pretty cool in it's own way. It just misses out on way too many great games and awesome devs to compete with 360 or PS3 imo.

I think it's a bit strange to say it isn't more of the same when the top games on it are nearly all Nintendo cIassic franchises?
